Problem with Huawei E176 + RB433UAH + ROS 4.5

Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:40 am

Hi people
I'v connected a Hauwei E176 to a rb433uah (ROS 4.5).
What I see when I power on the RB is that in the log I see this error:
00:07:25 async,ppp,info ppp-out1: initializing...
00:07:25 async,ppp,info ppp-out1: reseting link...
00:07:25 async, ppp, info ppp-out1: reseting link... - could not acquire serial port
00:07:25 async,ppp,info ppp-out1: disconnected
00:07:35 async,ppp,info ppp-out1: initializing...
00:07:35 async,ppp,info ppp-out1: reseting link...
00:07:35 async, ppp, info ppp-out1: reseting link... - could not acquire serial port
00:07:35 async,ppp,info ppp-out1: disconnected
And keeps going.
BUT if I go to System/Reboot, then It works fine (CAN acquire serial port and connect to internet and surf with
no problems).
Everything goes OK until I power off the RB again and power on.
The error appears again until I reboot and It works.
Is this modem fully supported by RouterOs?
I will try to make a script to reboot afert power on (there is a way to detect that??)

Thanks in advance

please contact the support@mikrotik.com for remote access to your uint for debugging.
So the modem works only after 2nd reboot; after 1st reboot it doesn't work?

It responds after the first reboot. It does not after power ON.
I call it power on instead of first reboot because I think it´s different
because in power on the modem has to boot up with the power,
but after reboot the power to the modem is already there and maybe
it's already initialized.
Should I send the supout.rif in the support mail?
Thanks

Yes, create the support output file on the power on when you see that problem and send that file via email to support.
Also It would be great if you could provide remote access to the router.

Unfortunately I don't have the modem anymore so I couldn't do any other test.
If I did't find the solution I was going to try some script to reboot after 10 seconds or so
after power on. I don't know if that was going to work or not.
Just an idea.
