Mikrotik PPPoE & Bridge Mode static ip traffic problem

Tue Feb 16, 2010 1:13 pm

Hi all,

I have a starnge problem with Mikrotik Router OS version 4.5 running in PC. I have 3 interface.

1. wan
2. lan
3. bridge

If I disable "use ip-firewall" in bridge settings, all PPPoE users traffic shaping just work fine while Users passing through bridge interface didn't manage bandwidth. They get speed
un-mamanged !

I want to control traffic for both Bridge mode static IP users & PPPoE user running in different interface.

Please suggest me how ??

Regards.

Enabling that causes queues (at least with pppoe) to not be enforced. I've seen it quite a few times and usually recommend unchecking the box. Sounds like he has two different ways that users have their bandwidth managed, and enabling or disabling that function will flip flop which ones are limited and which ones aren't.

Mikrotik should really fix whatever they broke to cause it to not work when "use ip firewall" is checked. There have been a few threads on here that people have had the same problem.

If you disable "use ip-firewall" in bridge settings, all traffic passing through any bridge will not be processed by IP firewall rules
