Gateway problem!

Tue Aug 02, 2005 8:58 pm

Hi,
I have two RB 532 with L5 OS and I have a problem with this configuration:

adsl (10.10.0.1) <--> ether2(RB1: 10.10.0.30)
...........................|
...........................-> wlan2 (RB1: 10.0.4.1) with SR5 station mode
...........................|
...........................-> wlan1 (RB1: 10.0.3.1) CM9 hotspot

office (10.0.2.1) <--> wlan1 (RB2: 10.0.4.2) with SR5 AP mode
...........................|
...........................-> wlan2 (RB2: 10.0.0.1) CM9 hotspot

in the RB1 I have route: 0.0.0.0/0 to 10.10.0.1 with ARP
in the RB2 I have route: 0.0.0.0/0 to 10.0.4.1 with ARP
now:
- hotspot RB1 not have a problem
- link AP-station have -78dBm, 24Mbit at 14Km and not have a problem
- from RB2 I ping successfully 10.0.4.1 and 10.10.0.30
but ping 10.10.0.1 not work... why?
traffic vs gateway of RB2 is stopped in 10.10.0.30 !!
Pls help me, I appreciate it..
Regards

OrCAD,

I assume that 10.10.0.1 is a stand-alone ADSL router?
Or are you using a dumb ADSL modem that only
converts ADSL to ethernet and 10.10.0.1 is an address
of RB1 itself?

If 10.10.0.1 is not on RB1 but is a seperate ADSL
router, then I'd think your problem is that the ADSL
router might not know the routes back to the RB2
networks (going via RB1 to get there).

If all the ADSL router knows is its default route to the
internet and the 10.10.0.0 network
(because that's directly connected), then you
need to fix the routing in the ADSL router...

Hi,
thank's to reply...

10.10.0.1 is my server gateway ... 10.10.0.1 <-> 84.xx.xx.xx internet
10.10.0.0/24 is the network from server to RB1
RB1 have ip:10.10.0.30/24
I try to nat: 10.0.4.2 to 10.10.0.40 in the range of the server.... fail!

another crazy idea?
