Big PPPOE Problem Thats Needs an Expeart

Thu May 06, 2010 7:02 pm

hello expert

My server working for fine and everything with pppoe is work but the problem is that when i connect to the server for a period of time i lost the connection (no ping for the server no ping for the dns) and the pppoe connection still connected on the pc this problem happen from time to time not for a fix period of time and in the same time if i login using hotspot everything work fine.

i try...
1- many version of ROS.
2- changing all the cables.
3- changing the Router (i use RB1000).
4- attach the pc directly to the Router interface.

I'm will be happy for your reply

Thank you very much in advance

What version of RouterOS are you running? How does the problem show itself? Do all the customers have problems at the same time, or is it varied where it seems like only a few people have a problem but that it's constantly happening? What's between the RB1000 and your customers? How is that network configured?

We'll need a little more information than that. Can you show us your PPPoE config? What is left in your log files when the PPPoE users are forced to disconnect?

Open a command line and run the following command:

interface pppoe-server export file=pppoeconfig

It will create a text file. Open this text file and copy the contents, then paste it into the forums.

This way we can help diagnose the problem.
