srcnatting mt generated traffic different from private net

Fri Aug 19, 2005 3:00 am

I know this seems simple but I can't figure it out. How can I tell any traffic originating from the MT box itself to src-nat as one IP address, and any private lan going out as another. Right now we just masq all traffic going out a the wan port to itself and it works fine... however when we are doing some proxying we need to say 'when it comes in and goes back out the wan port use a different src-nat ip'.

Specifying src-ip as 127.0.0.1 doesnt work, or as the internal ip doesn't work. Wondering what src-address the MT is when it's the one generating the traffic.

You can specify a prefered source in the route table though I'm not sure this entirely answers your question.

How about using a src-nat to another IP for most of the traffic and leaving the router source IP as the proxy?
