splitting traffic types over WAN ports

Thu Jul 15, 2010 4:34 am

Hi there,

I was looking for some advice please before I undertake my next task. I will be having another WAN connection installed to help with the bandwidth and QoS in the next week.

Currently my setup has all traffic going through eth1 (to the internet) and eth3 (to LAN).
WAN = 10mb Static IP connection
I have QoS setup on my RB800 - which I would like to keep in place for the WANS (but somehow ensure the correct QoS rules apply for each WAN.

What I need to do is have VOIP traffic & any specified IP address run over eth1 (to WAN1) and all other internet traffic over eth2 (to WAN2).
WAN1 = 10mb Static IP connection
WAN2 = 50mb DHCP IP connection

Many Thanks

Use routing marks in the mangle facility to mark packets, then use routes attached to routing marks to policy route those packets out a specific gateway.

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:PCC

PCC loadsharing is an example of policy routing. You wouldn't mark things based on PCC, though, you would mark based on protocol and port.
