Please help me trouble shoot my network. I am using Mikrotik routerOS 5.0rc1. Just this morning my network is very slow. Speedtest.net reading on several servers could not exceed 200kbps. My subscription is 2mbps.

How do I know my actual download speed just by looking at winbox? Torch maybe could help but I don't know what to look for.

My opendns reported a malware/botnet actvity too.

you can connect the internet connection directly to you PC and test speed. if we can get full speed 2Mbps, the router/configuration has problem otherwise the internet speed is not enough.

yeah, but I am several miles away. I 'm gonna be at the site tomorrow. Right now, i could only access via winbox.

confirmed , I got full speed using my laptop.

With mikrotik my speed drops less than 200kbps.
I've tried sys reset and reloaded my backup config to no avail.


Any ideas?

So how do I rid the beasts?

I tried reinstalling (fresh install) same problem came out.
