How many IPSEC tunnels can an RB532 handle?

Tue Nov 16, 2010 11:45 pm

We are an ISP and have an RB532a router installed at a client location. The router currently has 18 IPSEC tunnels connecting the client to other locations. The client has recently had some trouble with different tunnels no longer passing traffic. It's never the same tunnel. Are there any known limits to the number of tunnels that can be handled? The router is an RB532a, with 2.18 firmware running RouterOS 4.11.

There is no limit in number of tunnels, but from my expirence traffic which can be passed through tunnels (on all RB's excluding 1000 and 1100) is relatively small and this is the main limit.

a few.. 2-3, depending on the amount of traffic.
