3G-Modem transparent Bridge

Wed Dec 15, 2010 12:26 pm

Hi all,

Is it possible to configure mikrotik to be a transparent bridge with one eth and one 3G-Modem?
I need clients to connect to the internet and get an ip address from isp while connected with Ethernet to a mikrotik device. Just like a dsl modem only with a 3G-Modem.
Is this possible?

Thanks

And how many IP address do you think your ISP will give out, if you connect 20 clients to your Mikrotik? You have one SIM card, and probably one IP you will get from the ISP.

That is why people invented NAT. So you can connect multiple (a lot) of clients to one (public) IP.
