Streaming from server through RB7450G

Sat Sep 17, 2011 9:24 pm

This could be way out of Mikrotik scope but I would like to know if it's possible to us my RB750G to facilitate streaming of live TV from a serer to my network (wired). Any ideas????? :? :? :?

If you're talking about IPTV that's just normal IP multicast traffic. The router fully supports it.

Specific answers require specific questions. When in doubt, post the output of "/ip address print detail", "/ip route print detail", "/interface print detail", "/ip firewall export", and an accurate network diagram.

dont use RB750 for multicast routing, better buy any L2 switch (Dlink or EdgeCore or Cisco..)

and afterwards have problems when you have to choose - ipv4 multicast with iptv subscribers or ipv6 network working. That is, if you imply to use igmp snooping. Or less disastrous - what to do when you need features from IGMPv3.
