HELP: got deauth: no activity

Mon Nov 21, 2005 5:36 pm

When there is no traffic from my miktotik
I get the following log entries
wlan: lost connection to mac_address got deauth: no activity(4)
This entry is every 30 minutes and especially at night.
And after exactly one second later it connects again.

Does anybody now how to prevent that or at least not have
it displayed in my log entries;

The mikrotik is 2.9.2 configured as station
with an atheros wireless card.
I'm connecting as client to a remote access point
(not very remote, 300 meters with perfect visual contact).

This problem rised when I disabled in mikrotik, the neiborhood
discovery protocol (on the wireless card) since
it was sending out some packects with destination 255.255.255.255

Any help

I suggest you upgrade your router to latest version.

It seem you have no activity with access point when your client is disconected. Access point thinks that client is dead and kick out from his list.

It look like that it is not Mikrotik RouterOS access point.

Try re enabling the neiborhood discovery protocol thing? Most wireless hardware multicasts on 255.255.255.255 to mange it's self. That is probably blocking the signal that says your end is still alive.
