E450 is newer. It should be slightly faster than similar Intel Atom models.

Yes, but I don't have Atom tests also, so... :D
Maybe sameone did some tests and comparations to RB's? Where does Atom and Zacate fits, between whic routers 450G and 800, or maybe they are faster, or slower, or...

Thx

450G has a AR7161 0.68 Ghz single core (MIPS 24K).

Zacate E350 is a 1.6 Ghz dual core.

There is a bit of an apples and oranges comparison because of the different architectures. For example you don't see ARM processors used for routers because they're supposedly not well suited for it. On the other hand MIPS and PowerPC seem quite popular. Not sure how the AMD core compares. Also the 450G also has some dedicated hardware boosts like the switch chip and such.

For a SWAG, call the E350 4-5x faster with more RAM.

For the time I used an Atom N330 with 4 NICs as a linux router, it wasn't struggling to route packet at gigabit speed with firewall rules on it.
With a 450G, it wont go past 30MB/s for the same network.

This is a totally different scale. 450G supposely consumes <10W, my old Atom N330 was 25W.
