Hotspot and IPv6?

Wed Nov 16, 2011 1:53 pm

Occasionally I have a problem with users with Win7 and Vista connecting to Hotspot. Their computers are not able to find hotspot webpage sometimes. They connect to the network, DHCP assigns IP address (IPv4), but when opening browser, it is not able to find Hotspot login page. After some research I realized, that if I turn off IPv6 on the client computer, everything works fine and login page is found immediately. Some suggestions how to deal with it? (I cannot ask users to turn off IPv6 on their computers). Thanks.

Hi there
did you try to configure IPv6 on Hotspot RoS ? If you plan to have dual stack execution you will solve this issue. For example using http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Setting_up_DHCPv6 to configure dhcv6?

Hoping it's useful to you
ciao
