what if the MTU increased ?

Wed Nov 30, 2011 7:56 pm

hi
after reviewing the WIKI regarding MTU http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Ma ... uterBoards
I found that the default MTU is 1500 for all the interfaces with different L2MTU values.
what if I increase the MTU to the L2MTU values ? what will happened ?
fragmentation of the frames ?
tried but no much changes ? may be little improvement of the streaming of the online video !!

any suggestions ?

The question is "why do you need to"?

If you plan to use MPLS, QinQ yes, but otherwise leave it untouched, its little to nothing to gain from changing it.
