2 SXT (bridge) but performance problems

Thu Dec 01, 2011 9:43 pm

Hi I have 2 SXT's and have bridged them. The distance between them is about 300 meters.
If I use the bandwidth test I have a speed of 30 till 40 Mbps (send and recieve)
I test both the speed is about 19 Mbps.
I thinkt this can faster.
What to tune?
I set the band to N only and use the highest frequence.
What can I do to get a higher speed?

Did you enable both chains in Wireless?
Do you have any obstacles between SXTs?

I have several similar setups and get around 10MB/s real life performance (copying a file :))
And as you can see this almost the limit of 100 Mbit/s ethernet port.
My Wireless connection is 130Mbit/130Mbit and CCQ 100/100 at cca 300m (one side is behind a Windows and other is on the outside od the building)

I use a VPLS tunel bridge.. see wiki.mikrotik.com and follow the guide..

Hi, you talk about 2 chains in the wireless.
How can I check this?

I have one SXT level 3 in mode bridge
The oterh SXT level 4 in mode: station bridge
Both 5ghzN olny

The 2 SXT's are about 200 Meters from eachother.
Nothing between them. Both placed at the roof of the building and a clear side to side view.

try enabling Nv2 wireless protocol and upgrade to RouterOS v5.9 and select the rate-selection=advance on both SXT devices.

I run 5.9
I enabled Data Rate to Advanced
NV2 as allready there.
Now I have:
Recieve: 16 Mbps
Send: 13 Mbps
Both: TX 5 Mbps RX 6 Mbps
So verry poor I think.

Hi,

check Wireless Interface under HT Tab if you have cheked chain0 and chain1
One SXT is in Station Mode the other is in Bridge
I use NV2 wireless protocol. Standarad is set to 5GHZ-OnlyN

ROS v5.8 and legacy rate control...

Hi,

The default tx power is 17dbm and when you are using 2x2 you will get 3dbm extra and 200 meters is really close. Try to decrease TX power using card rates and set it to 7 dbm.

I guess it will solve your problem, ok?

Thanks for your reply.
If I decrease the TX power to for example 7DBm the speed only get slower.
