Needed AP to support 50 concurrent users

Tue Jan 03, 2012 5:22 am

Can anyone recommend any Mikrotik AP which can support up to 50 concurrent users with ~50 Mbps per users.
I intend to use this wireless system for office users (replacing cable). Thanks

50 concurrent with ~50mbps each means an AP handling 50 X 50 = 2500 mbps.
Do you think it is possible?
I would recommend you to have all connection in PtP.
You will have your hairs intact

RB800 is one option. but then again, simultaneous 50 users at that speeds - you will have to have several APs.

So, i would need a RB800 with multiple R2N 802.11b/g/n miniPCI card installed on it and using same SSID?

well, the key word is simultaneous . That is a lot of traffic and it is going to be hard to do that taking into account available spectrum. If you have to deliver traffic of up to 50Mbps that changes everything. But yes, RB800 with multiple cards in it, and if you really need those 50Mbps then several RB800.
