Hotspot e-mail login.

Tue Feb 21, 2012 9:00 am

I wish to have it so users have to register their e-mail to login to the hotspot.
And it would create a list over the e-mails registered and send or store them.

Is it possible to do this on the mikrotik without using an external server?

No, it's not possible :). But it should be easy with a simple server with RADIUS and PHP.

How can we do this?

Are there any Wiki articles or Tutorials that describe this? Any existing PHP examples that allow, for example, new users to register a new user account via a MikroTik hotspot, using FreeRADIUS as the back end server - so that they create their new user accounts in mySQL tables?

Also, supposing a user returns to the hotspot and open their web browser. Any suggestions on how I would:

1. Recognise their MAC address
2. Authenticate the user via their MAC address
3. Send the user a "Welcome Back John Doe" web page

Many thanks,
Ian
