How can I use MT's own AAA remotely?

Sat Dec 17, 2005 2:31 am

Hi! I have an MT based hotspot that is running quite well. I am using the AAA system that is built-in in MT. Now I am opening a second hotspot location in another part of the town, also using another MT box. Any ideas on how to set up the MT boxes so that I can use the same user database of the first MT box at the second location?

I know this probably should be done by using a centralized radius server, but at this point MT's internal AAA is sufficient for our needs. And it would be nice to be able to use it for the two separate hotspot locations. That way users can roam between the two locations (no need to have separate user accounts for the two locations).

Thanks!

You can't use one MT box to authenticate clients on another. It can be a AAA client but not a server. Consider a simple and free RADIUS server like FreeRADIUS or Multitech RADIUS (search for radius201.exe)

Radius is your only option. You should try mikrotik's radius service
