L2TP VPN Tunnel problem

Thu Jan 19, 2006 9:30 am

Hi all

I have 2 VPN tunnels going from 2 Routerboard 530's.
One via ADSL
one Via Diginet (Leased Line)

The ADSL one is the mainvpn
The Diginet the backup one.

This is the error message i keep getting when the mainvpn drops and redials.

MainVPN: Terminating... - old tunnel is not closed yet.

Any ideas why this would be happening ?

Regards

Malcolm

Hi, its a bug,

I reported it to support mail and I hope they will do their best....
I have similar scenario, but there is bug with disconecting old tunnels, I asked for solution on MT training in Prague, but answer was, so I may report it.
Dont use MT's PPTP or L2TP tunnels for high availibility secure links over networks... Its a way to hell now...

My scenario is 10 MT servers, each have 2 ISP's, so there are two tunnels between them (full mesh). But on one link failed, old tunnel is not disconnected and new one cannot be established (rule anly one)...
