Facebook users and how to manage

Fri Nov 09, 2012 2:01 am

I've got a basic network with only @ 15 users on a 10/3 connection.
They are connected via Cable modem -->Mikrotik ROS ver 5.20 on a dual core PC 2gig ram --> WDS AP bridged to WDS Sta -->cisco switch-->Wireless 2.4 AP's.
Not much too it. But... they (5 users) are creating @ 1000 connections.
This is causing havoc with other minimal users.
Without too much detail is there anyway to mitigate?
Should I have them on different subnet?
Should I limit connections per facebook user? (don't want to lose these customers).
VLAN them?

Thanks

Thanks,
I do but that doesn't eliminate all the connections each IP makes.
It's hard on them little ole 750g riouters and all the connections.
WTF, I'm rebooting every other night, just to get the memory back up to @ 12 meg.
(lot of firewall)
Think it's time for Squid proxy and a router with a bit more HP.

Just drop those connections. A thousand connections for user seems a bit much to me.
/ip firewall filter
add chain=forward action=drop connection-limit=100,32
