RB751U 2HnD to version 6.0-rc3 with variable processing

Mon Nov 12, 2012 2:32 am

I put in my RB751U 2HnD to version 6.0-rc3 and noticed that processing varies from 5% to 100% with only one client in the wireless with very low traffic. In this New Terminal also slow.

Firmware Version 3.0

I did a downgrade to 5.21 with the same settings as RB returned to normal operation. I was not happy because I could not identify the real cause to contribute to Mikrotik

RB751U 2HnD to version 6.0-rc3 with variable processing

Did you check /tool profile to see what was the cause?

I'm seeing similar issues with the same release on the same hardware.
At near-rest (traffic through the device best measured in k) the device seems to consume 5-10% cpu.
Under moderate load (1 client, 25mbit through wireless to cable modem on ether1) the cpu usage gets up around 100% and winbox and terminal response hang. While watching profile it freezes for a bit and when it unfreezes the 'flash' process is upwards of 55% and falling.
I've also seen seemingly random reboots of the device by watchdog that don't appear to be load related. Sometimes once a day, sometimes a few times in an hour, then not again until the next day.
Issues were not present under 5.21, same config.

could you make a support output file from your setup?
Also what kind of that 25mbps traffic it is? Torrent or some file transfer - so we could try to reproduce it?

I have submitted the supout as requested.
The traffic in this case was http, generated by running a speedtest at http://speedtest.net.

, I also wished ever 6.0 or 5.21 in addition to put but I dare not because of my cpu, and the router itself becomes slower, I fear it. Was this version as 5.18 and then happened to be such a thing as the cpu at 100% and the router dizzy

I am seeing lots of cpu being used by the flash process on a 751U as well.

Tried to make a supout but it didn't like it - tested on dev version, still the same

I'm testing by doing a wget over wifi on a single stream, into a pppoe client onto my DSL.

Seeing flash process jumping up to around 35% in normal running, and then cpu maxing at 100% when doing a simple download.

Update managed to generate a supout, sending to support

Nick.

I have similar problem when intensive traffic goes over Wi-Fi on the device CPU goes to the sky and RB751U hangs.

Confirmed CPU usage when downloading on wired seems fine, but using wireless causes it to use lots of CPU.
