I previously had 6.04rc4 from the private section on Mikrotik.com. I updated to the rc4 release from the main page, and now CPU on my RB433UAH is 100% immediately after boot.

The two main processes are Wireless and Console. Each using 47-48% each constant.

I am generating a supout.rif now and will log a ticket with Mikrotik support.

Nope. Sorry. You've removed every other version! They have all gone. They are no more. They have ceased to exist. (I could go on, but that would infringe the Copyright of Monty Python! LOL)

Edit: And, they're back again. As if by magic! :-)

Hi,
I'm using RB800+SR71-A
I have upgraded to 6.0rc4 and constant kernel failures appear.
Cannot change frequency cannot downgrade...
Had to remove wireless card to downgrade but the other side(rb800+SR71-A) is upgraded and cannot be reached.
Is there any safe frequency in which it will connect.
I'm using superchannel and non standard frequency(6000+below-control).
Thanks in advance.

antoxa, please make support output file on your RB333 and send it to us. For your information mine RB333 upgrade went fine and all ports are working properly.

sirkike please clarify which NAT problem exactly.

I am unable to generate a supout.rif from the RB433UAH to send to Mikrotik.

I also notice if I connect to the serial console, I can login but as soon as I try any command it very briefly displays something about a console crash and returns to the login page.

I also tried to do a netinstall on to a RB751 without success (it does not complete).

I have used Netinstall 6.0rc4 from download page and RB751U, Netinstall worked without any problems.
Do you have any other RB751U for tests?

And we need to repeat console crash somehow, if it is not possible to make support output file, probably you can provide us with instructions and steps, how to simulate the same issue you had.

R52nM and SR71-A use different chips.
R52nM - ar9220
SR71-A - AR9160

The other side didn't connect on 6000 so I changed it to 4800 and after that nothing could be changed at all.
Everything I tried to do on the wireless card or even downgrade caused kernel failure.
I have sent autosupout after that from my company mail.
RB800 6.0rc4 kernel failure as subject.
Check it out.

How the HELL can you call this stable?!?!? I finally took a chance, and upgraded a RB433 that has 150 queues and the CPU was hitting 80% so I thought this might help. It had 5.15 on it. I upgraded it to RC4 and I can't even log back into it because its dropping so many packets like crazy.

RC4 totally RUINED it and I'll have to drive out to the tower now to downgrade it back. Stable....lol!

Luckily I have a toughswitch out there to reboot it or shut the damn thing off and try to route the addresses temporarily from another router at the site.

Also to mention, this is the same exact problem I had a while back with an RB/1100AH with BETA2!! This is FAR from being fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

150 rules queue simple or tree? if in queue simple do you see 0.0.0.0/0 on the last target every rule?
try to remove them and reboot.

till now my RB750GL works fine for 9 hours.

I can't remove them because obviously 0.0.0.0/0 caps the whole mikortik. And now every queue lost its IP addresses, and its so bogged down I can't even log into it.

Yes they're all simple queues. Don't tell me they STILL HAVEN'T FIXED THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All simple queues lose their IP addresses and cap it to 0.0.0.0/0 ?????

It's funny because they claim in ROS6, simple queue performance is boosted. However, nobody can test it because you loose all your IP addresses assigned to the queues. HOW has this gone on for this long, and mentioned over and over and over and it just gets ignored!!!!!

I've been bitching about this for the past 6 months!!!!! In every release!!!!!!!!!! WHY IS THIS STILL NOT FIXED NORMIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you should learn to put software upgrades through a phase of testing, before putting it on production equipment? If you tested queues with an upgrade, you would have clearly seen that there was a issue, and you wouldn't have upgraded your tower

Yea know shit, and I usually do test them on the bench first. I know that part it my fault idiot! What I'm so mad about, is that I've tested and reported this time after time, release after release for the past 6 months!!!!!! Then FINALLY RC4 came out, a release so stable they are about to put it out as the final, and I see this problem STILL isn't fixed, and its such a MAJOR problem!!!!!!

I'm not mad at myself for trusting it was stable and fixed since I reported the issue many times I figured by RC4 it was fixed, I mad at Mikrotik for bluntly ignoring my reports.

as far as I heard, IPs are still here (and I upgraded x86 5.21 to 6.0rc4, no problems at all), but on RBs, in WinBox you see 0.0.0.0/0 added to each simple queue's target. moreover, you can't see that 0.0.0.0/0 in CLI, so you can remove it only via WinBox... p.s. they say it's so, I haven't seen it :)

you can check using sniffer, what are these weird packets that are dropped. (when you start sniffing, they will not be dropped but accepted into the router for sniffer to see.

These are on all RB's, and they have 100-200 queues. I'll pull the one from the field today and power it up in the office and see what happened. It's the same thing I've seen every time I test ROS6 since beta2.

All the queues will have IP's, then after upgrade they say 0.0.0.0/0, when upgrading to any of the beta or RC versions. That is where the change happens.

I don't think it will work. I tried pasting even just a few queues from a export script, and it wouldn't add them. /queue/simple/add/ etc... won't import with RC4. Had to downgrade back to 5.22

I just pulled the RB433 that bricked last night from RC4. Same thing. All the IP addresses are there, but they have a 0.0.0.0/0 next to them.

Verified, doesn't work. ROS6 must have a different format, as it will not import the same language as 5.XX.

Works great on x86 platforms.

But not fixed ssh client bug (there is an error on connect "mepty: session finished")
Also BGP has issues on all 6.x versions, disconnecting peers, 5.22 works.

Other things, everything works good. Thank you.

Verify your CPU speed. I had the same issue when upgrading to 5.11 a while back. Web traffic was not affected but SMB was slow as hell. After some time I noticed that the CPU was set to 100 MHz. After setting it to the correct value everything was workning again!

Ok here's what I'm seeing. Going from 5.22 to RC4 with Simple Queues, RC4 seems to add 0.0.0.0/0 as a "secondary" IP address on the simple queues.

See screenshots of before / after.
So is this enough evidence Normis or do I need to open a ticket with Mikrotik? Just let me know what I need to do. I really want to test this out I'm excited to see enhanced queue performance but because of this bug, I cannot.

Actually I already have a ticket opened, and I sent the before/after screenshots as well. It's easily replicated, just use a Mikrotik RB version with 100+ queues, and upgrade the firmware to RC.

But it's there in winbox and dhcp-server works, tried to 'sys package disable dhcp', reboot, 'sys package enable dhcp', reboot. Still no luck. :(
An export doesn't include dhcp-server config either.

Didn't know about that and gave it a try, but no difference.
Downgraded to rc3, same issue
Downgraded to rc2, same issue
Downgraded to 5.22, now it works again!

I wonder if i shall give rc4 another go, or maybe wait for rc5 and try again. Maybe it was something that went wrong at the upgrade to 6.0. (I think I went from 5.11 to 6.0rc4)

I try instal rc5 on my border router. from 5.22.
After reboot, router go up, but configuration configuration seemed to be not loaded.
If I try command /interface print or /ip ad print , no response, command line froze.
If I try /system resource print , all is ok.
Sup-out cannot be created, same problem in rc3.

Normis, if you want, I can send the backup or export before the upgrade.

Thanx

6to4 tunnel between two routers works. We need more information.

Hi,
I run ROS 6 RC5 Build 29/11 at 11am and I have a 6to4 tunnel to HE and it is working.
What I have seen on the older betas was that when upgrading them from v5 made the 6to4 interface get corrupted and needed to be removed and created again. Then it worked. But after this I have not had any issues.

We have same issue with 6to4. The problem is that 6to4 interface uses wrong 6to4 local IP address to connect to another end of the tunnel. It usually use default external IP address regardless what's set up in 6to4 tunnel. - That's bad, we need 6to4 on another interface/IP.

Additionally on ROS 6rc5 there is one more annoyance. IPv6 address on LAN bridge becomes unresponsive. Reboot doesn't helps, but if I disable that IP and re-enable it it works well for some time... - I don't know what is causing this.

What's new in 6.0rc4 (2012-Nov-28 17:16):

*) fixed problem - check-for-updates stopped working if it didn't find new updates
previously;
Assuming this is the feature I just found in 5.22 under "system packages" in Winbox, where does it update from -- directly from Mikrotik's site, or from the local update repository defined in "system auto-upgrade"?

(Edit: Never mind -- I executed it on a PTP MikroTik that didn't have a DNS server set and immediately got a complaint that it couldn't evaluate "upgrade.mikrotik.com", so that answers that.)
