Sometimes slow bandwith test in ROS 5.22

Fri Jan 25, 2013 1:41 pm

Hi,
we are running a small wireless network with clients authorosized over PPPOE and radius.
Not long ago we were able to test the speet to out AC with the bandwith tool correctly.
(e.g. a user has a limit of 2M, the bandwith test shows 2M with UDP)
But for a while now we get some strange results. Bandwith test shows arounf 36kBit on a 6M connection. If we restart the test, it sometimes raises to 6M as expected.
Testing real speed with uploading a file to the RB, speed seems to be normal (also if bandtwith test is currently showing 36kBit)

Has anyone noticed this behaviour and a solution for this?
Best regards from Germany

Have had this problms on RB1200 Boards. Fix was to change the port Connected. Try to change Ethernet port at Your NAS (pppoe-server) to se if it helps.

We could not change the port because it is running on a bridge.

I noticed, that when i use another RB as destination, the behaviour stays the same. So i guess it has something to do with the queing on the AC because the connection (PPPOE-tunnel) is made between AC and CPE. Testing packets to an outside RB must pass the queues on the AC.

should still be possible to change the port you are Connected into if using bridge.. You however need to have physical Access to the router.
