Problem with PPPoE Connection

Wed Feb 13, 2013 8:25 pm

Good afternoon. There is a problem when connecting to a PPPoE server based on Juniper hardware. Correct to say this is not a problem, but a question of negotiation. In our case, the server is configured with an indication of AC Name (service name).
When client connected, the following occurs.
20:02:36 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-out1: dialing...
20:02:36 pppoe,debug,packet ether1: sent PADI to FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF

20:02:41 pppoe,debug ether1: received PADO with unknown host-uniq, dropping
20:02:42 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-out1: terminating... - disconnected

20:02:42 pppoe, ppp, debug pppoe-out1: LCP down event in initial state
20:02:42 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-out1: disconnected
20:02:42 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-out1: initializing...
20:02:42 pppoe,ppp,info pppoe-out1: dialing...
As you can see, the server does not have time to respond to a client request. So I want to leave a request to add one more parameter in the properties of the connection: PADI timeout or the number of PADI requests.

Re: Problem with PPPoE Connection

Hi,
It's 2014 and problem isn't solved still?
Russian Rostelecom users with PPPoE began experiencing problems after their ISP has introduced a 5s delay before sending PADO. So ALL RouterOS running devices instantly became useless.
