netwatch to hotspot Ap's

Tue Mar 05, 2013 11:14 pm

Hi!

See if you can help me, please ...

I'm trying to make NetWatch monitor access points that are in the eth2 with a hotspot running over. But I fail to ping them ...

eg

eth1. - 192.168.1.24
eth2 ( hotspot). - 10.5.50.1
ap. - 192.168.1.101

if I ping from the terminal to 192.168.1.101, I fail, bringing the NetWatch not working.

( I created a walled garden ip entry, protocol ICMP, accepted, but still not...

any idea??

best regards

Add

/ip firewall filter
add chain=forward protocol=icmp

Afterwards go to winbox and drag that icmp rule to position 0 (up in the firewall filter list)

This will probably solve your problem.

thanks for your answer, but not works

I created the chain, and put on first position, but still not working... I think that is anything in routes, beacuse ICMP traffic can pass, i can ping the AP if it have 10.5.50.x address, but not if is 192.168.1.x address...

any idea???

many thanks!

Do you have the route to 192.168.1.x address and ip hotspot binding for it?

i can ping the AP if it have 10.5.50.x address, but not if is 192.168.1.x address...
what you need is to create bridge and route for 192.168.1.x, don't forget to add the ap mac & ip to ip hotspot binding if necessary :)
