What power for Cloud Router Switch? What voltage?

And R11E-HPND is 2x2 mimo? Have you miniPCIex 3x3?

Are Mikrotik planning to deliver a CCR with 10 or more SFP socket to put in POP with Mikrotik SFP and put RB260GS for FTTH or RB2011 / CRS for FTTB service delivery !

It's great to have client device with SFP port, but you don't have device with many SFP socket to put on Central Office ( POP ) side.

Really excited to hear that the 24 port gig switch will be running RouterOS.
I know it likely won't be doing any layer3 work but that it'll be configurable via the same methods (winbox, api etc) and in a familiar format is really important imo.

R11E-2HND has uFl or MMCX connectors?
On slide is written uFl but on foto has MMCX.

the photo on the slide is incorrect - the card with smaller heatsink will have uFl connector.

CRS will be running RouterOS and will have routing just the RB750GL but with a 600MHz AR9344 CPU. Also the switch chip has tables for L3 wire speed forwarded, similar to other switches with L3 support.

Will there be any changes to the current switch vlan setup and configuration process to make the setup more streamlined?

I don't mean easier as obviously there is a lot of options to configure but the current process is incredibly complex and difficult to understand so it would be good if there was a new method for working with this.

Very nice!

Will the hardware forwarding on the CRS support MPLS (at least label-swap, i.e. for P router applications) at wire speed?

L3 at wire speed will be nice, but L2.5 would be even nicer. :-)

CRS sounds really nice, bye bye Cisco switches!
I was going to buy some new HP switches next week, but lucky for me that this news comes along!
Hope waiting a few months will be worth it :)

I agree, configuring the switching on RouterBoards is overly complex.

Hopefully the CRS has a sane way to configure the switched ports as access, trunk, define what vlans are allowed and translate svid/cvid

Maybe build some logic in to RouterOS where by master-ports are eliminated. We just use "bridges" and add ports to a bridge, if the ports are on a switch chip it automatically uses the hardware switching. You could then add vlans to the bridge, and have some sort of mechanism to limit what vlans are allowed on certain ports.

Gratulations to new products!

I wish: CRS rackmount version with 2xSFP to be able to have a fibre loop
and
stacked management, full CLI, wire speed MPLS and vlan (with trunking), dual power suply in rackmount for redundancy, rSTP, mSTP, IGMP proxy

its a switch so everything wire speed please

Further to this it would be good to see some basic ACL configurations packed into simple setup options:
- DHCP snooping
- maximum mac address limiting per port
- broadcast / multicast rate limiting
- etc

Would be good to see RouterOS actually use the power available on the CCR now. But, having a proper switch is epic. Good work. 10g sfp?

So, the CRS has routing.

How is this not a router? I don't understand.

Thanks

Because most of the ports will be part of a line speed switch chip and that's the intended use. Besides, you can have layer 3 switches too! :-)

It seems to me the CRS is what I would buy now instead of the 2011. Although I would prefer a narrower version with 2x6 or 2x2x4 ports.

And that it is considered more a switch because the routing performance is not balanced with the number of ports.

Unless there is something missing in the router area.

Does anyone know how many switch chips will be in the CRS?.
Did Mikrotik make any improvements to the external power connector, or is it just an AC connector?

All RACK products should have front DC connector (12-30V)

AC power is not suitable for AP points.
For unknown reasons Mikrotik forcing AC power supply?

CRS looks nice ... will it support jumbo frames? Is it fanless design? Price range?
SFP+ version of CRS would be even nicer ...
Why the microUSB port ? There is plenty of space for a normal sized USB port ....

hopefully RB912 price will be as attractive as specifications ... although there is no info on RAM/Flash size yet I must admit it is a very interesting unit indeed. Does it have an SD card slot?

miniPCIe wlan cards are welcome ...

RB1100HX2 looks to me like RB1200 replacement ... is it fanless design? I am looking for a quiet device for home/soho use that would not make too much noise (if any) and is more powerfull than RB2011 or RB450G ... RB1200 would be perfect if it only would not add about 250ms of latency to IPSEC tunnels. :(

Will there be any new (also rack?) chassis or at least small enough chassis for new products (or old - specially RB2011) that would fit in 10" (yes, TEN inch, not 19") racks?

I'm mostly interested in

CCR with 10G SFP+
(I'm a CCR fan having already bought 3 and 2 already in production)

and in

R11E-HPND
finally a high-powered MPCIe card with 2 MMCX and with normal (full) size

I see it uses the (relatively new) AR9580 chipset

which are the differences to AR9380? I can't find any info on the QCA site. Just more power? Which is the per-chain max power at 5GHz MCS12 datarate @20MHz?

It looks like it is just a newer, slightly better chip.

Most of the info I've read focuses on Qualcomm/Atheros teaming with an OEM to make some smart router or something.

Any word on higher gain 2.4ghz CPE?

Thu Mar 21, 2013 3:34 pm

We really two more 2.4Ghz CPE's the 10dBi SXT's are good but we need a ~15dBi and a ~19dBi CPE also.

Thanks,
Chadd

Nice to hear new products and improvement like TenGi. But I`m afraid it will get long time to launch real one even existing CCR is still not stable. Anyway, nice to hear and GOOD LUCK MT guys. Hope you can release stable products within this year.

The CCR releases are still in v6rc11 so I wouldn't expect them to be stable; that said I know there are already a number of people using their basic functionality in production deployments. I myself have some in test as PPPoE servers alongside existing x86 boxes so that if the CCR fails the others take their clients.

I'm actually quite happy that MikroTik have delayed the release of v6 because it means they're not yet happy with it, which to me says they're taking their time to release a quality revision rather than calling it ready and causing themselves more pain with support issues.

Yes, RB912 has miniPCIe. This is the new industry standard, we will slowly move towards miniPCIe
