routeros 6.0 config backup problems

Sat Mar 16, 2013 12:59 am

We have recently been deploying dozens of the rb2011 series routers and to save a lot of time we set one up with default settings that we wanted and we then use that config file to copy over to the others. the problem i have seen is that when we do a backup in router os 6.0 it will save all the mac addresses too, so when we restore the backup onto a new router it changes all the mac addresses from the correct ones to the mac addresses that were on the original router we copied the config from, we did not have this problem with routeros 3, 4 or 5 it has only started happening in 6. :(

backup is designed for the same router. to copy your configuration, use /export (or /export compact in previous versions)
