Connecting to Same Provider Redundantly

Wed Mar 20, 2013 6:04 am

I've got 2x Mikrotik Boxes setup and have VRRP for the outgoing gateway

I've got a /24 external that we have access to via the Provider. We then Statically NAT them into our network from there. So each of the servers uses it's external IP

So for instance 192.168.88.0/24 will be external for this example, 10.0.0.0/24 will be internal

We have 192.168.88.1 -> 10.0.0.5 Setup so that externally 10.0.0.5 doesn't come up with our routers IP 192.168.88.20

So if I have 2 routers
192.168.88.21 - Tik1
192.168.88.22 - Tik2
Both with VRRP- 192.168.88.20

When it goes out will it use the correct External IP if it's statically Natted, Netmap in the Mikrotik World.

Because I have say 30 of them to do and I need the outgoing packets from each server to come from correct address.
It's currently setup a different way.. This will be implemented within the next month. So I'm just asking for a few confirmations on whether the Netmap will be respected even though It's VRRP'd

Or If I'm just attacking this the wrong way. let me know.. I just need to arp an Address to the provider and it's mine.. Not secure I know but that's this provider for you.
So VRRP isn't the way to do it. let me know
