Hi all. Not sure if I'm being crazy or I have found a bug. I have checked and double checked and I can't find any reason for my problem.

I have vrrp running on a bridge on two rb750 gl. Each side of the bridge connects to a switch with the other router exactly the same. So each router has a path to each switch (2 switches).

Latest firmware. Rstp prevents loop.

Frequently I get vrrp running on this interface not transmitting a heartbeat yet being master.

Anyone else?

the heartbeat is not blocked by any rules either.

vrrp doesn't work well on a bridge interface. You will have some strange behaviour. Use only vrrp directly on an ethernet interface.

That can't be the official line??

I too have some oddness with VRRP on bridge...
Is this officially supported?

I have Bridges for each of my VLANs which come from a single interface, It's advised to place any IP on the bridge not on the bridge ports

VRRP should be used in an l3 environment. not l2 like in a bridge interface.
