Trouble with certificates authentication

Tue Apr 16, 2013 2:45 pm

Hello colleagues. Have a couple Mikrotiks with OS 5.24 onboard. I want one of them to execute scripts on the other one. Thus as I understand I need certificates authentication. I've created separate user with full access oh both routers. Then I generated key pair on Ubuntu with "ssh-keygen -t dsa" as it described on wiki. Then I imported public key on master router and both public/private keys on a slave. But when I try to execute something remotely it still prompts for a password and all works if I provide it. Beside that I cannot login with this user using password and so looks like certificates import succeeded.

What is wrong in my attempts? :?

Nope, and what is even worse it's still no reply from Mikrotik guys :?

BTW just updated to fresh ROS 6.1 and still no luck

Update: FINALLY! some movements with this. Looks like it was buggy SSH server in ROS 5.24. Now I've upgraded one of my devices to 6.1 and could successfully SSH there with certificate auth!

Later I'll upgrade my second device and try viceversa-SSH 8)
