Bonding with ARP monitoring is not working, disable ARP monitoring or change to MII solve the problem, tested on 750g, 750gl, 1000AH and 1100AHx2

Hi,

I just upgraded from Ros5.25 on a RB433, RB750G, 5Ghz RB711G and SXT

All of them were running firmware 3.07 (that came with Ros5.25), but now the SXT and 711 state that their latest available firmware is 3.02?

Is it safe to run 3.07 on them or should I downgrade to 3.02 for those 2 routers.

Regards.

You mean 6RC15.... for 6.0 it has too many issues

on RB 450G it miss like 4 packages which made my RB unreachable.

I made that firmware "downgrade" on RB 750 works fine

PietRetief, both firmwares are working ok. We will update to the newer firmware for those boards in next RouterOS release.

what packages are missing? when you upgrade, you must upload the packages you need, if you didn't upload them, they will not be installed.

post your queue config. how did you check that they are not limiting? which version did you have before upgrade?

They were all between 5.18-5.25. All are either 433ah boards or 435G. MY x86 system running ros v.6rc11 also works fine. Its only the 5 or 6 boards I upgraded last night to 6.0 that does this. Check the file attachment, its not showing any upload traffic. all 0

Nevermind i've found the problem, its the "everyone" queue at the bottom, when i disable that the uplaod traffic starts running, was just a nice way to check the traffic going out of the board :/

To Chrisdewit:

My guess is you have queue Nr:29 (named "everyone") as parent to all other simple queues.
Am I correct?

To fix your queues change target from 0.0.0.0/0 to 10.5.1.0/24 or specify target as interface name where clients are connected, everything should work normally

Now, lets think - can all the traffic (from and to your clients) can be considered as download from 0.0.0.0/0 ??? Yes, it can!
so nothing is left as upload.

Re: v6.0 released

I have upgraded a RB750G and RB2011UAS-2HnD to RouterOS 6.0. I have upgraded the firmware as well to 3.07 (RB750G) and 3.08 (RB2011).

In the upgrade procedure the RB2011 lost it's ip adress. After setting that correctly i can't reach it over it's ip adress either by winbox or web interface.

What is happening ?

(the rb750g works fine)

----

I cleared the configuration and entered the settings again and all is well. At this side however something went wrong with the ip adress.

Do you use bridge and "use-ip-firewall" in bridge settings?

Try to disable it and check if it works.

Yes, it works when "use-ip-firewall" disabled.

How to make that work simultaneously?

Avoid using simple queues with interface names as "target" and "dst." instead use ip addresses in those options.

RB600 nand is 64mb

Minimum partition sizes:
   32MB on MIPS
   40MB on PowerPC
   48MB on CCR

There is not enough space for two partitions on RB600

Dear Normis!

Multicast routing (PIM-SM) same source to different interface still doesn't work in CCR1036.
Same ROS version and same configuration (1. RP, 3. Interface) work like a charm in RB2011.

Please check out the problem.

You get to a point where the user based of a RC have tested all they had to test... And it normal that issues are popingup after an RC since the user base who try it going to be very large with lot of particular setup. As with any upgrade between major releases like this, it always good to test in a lab environment before putting in production, so it will allow them to fix the issues that wasn't reported or confirmed in the RC for the user who have specific usages.

+1 But then again - MT is pretty much known for this behaviour... Just the recent issues I saw in RC14 (not even talking about this growing list)... I'm definately waiting before taking 6.0 anywhere near production.

I just upgraded from 6.0rc14 to 6.0 final and found that IPv6 conntrack is not working. None of the rules appear to create state (in the Connections tab in Winbox) and reply packets all hit my default drop rules at the end of each chain, instead of the "accept established/related" rules. This is only happening with the IPv6 firewall; IPv4 conntrack appears to work as it should. I opened a ticket (#2013052166000812) about this and attached a supout file.

Hello all

as we can see v6.0 on CCR1036 works fine and smooth in production environment with

- L2MTU 9000
- OSPF
- BGP
- MPLS LDP
- VPLS BGP MTU 1500
- TE TUNNELS

max packet : 300000 per vpls which mean about 170 Mbps duplex for 64 byte and full 1Gbps duplex with 512 bytes at minimum

all setup from scratch to avoid migration issues

a+

kills? or just binds to 'unknown' interface instead of 'global-something'? isn't it because there's no 'global-something' in v6 and there's no 'global' in previous versions?

The first SXT Lite 2 I've grabbed and updated from v6rc14 rebooted over and over again for about half an hour several times. After unplugging its power source entirely it rebooted five times. And yes, I've tried another cable (it didn't make any difference).

I'm running a testing setup with OSPF and BGP all over L2TP, with 5.25 no problems.
With 6.0 OSPF is behaving quite strange with messages like
may/21 20:27:24 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.42.1.104: state change from ExStart to 2-Way
may/21 20:28:05 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.42.1.104: state change from ExStart to 2-Way
may/21 20:29:08 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.42.1.104: state change from Exchange to 2-Way
may/21 20:29:08 route,ospf,info OSPFv2 neighbor 10.42.1.104: state change from 2-Way to Down
in the logs. I also got a crash on the central router of the setup...

But hey, thats what we are used to with new major releases ;-)
I can't recommend using 6.0 in production as long as there are issues with OSPF.

Re: v6.0 released

Upgraded one of my test RB2011's before rollout to customers V6.0 FW 3.08, noticed that it started to drop occasional ping (on LAN) (monitored by dude)
Can see one of the eth interfaces going up and down exactly on the hour (15th minute) in the log
Was previously on 5.25 - no issue

Please check, from where it picks garbage addresses into Torch when started from Simple Queues?

Don't enter Scan-list with commas. Use the "down arrow" to add more fields. As an alternative, you can make a channel list in the "Channels" section, then use the channel list name in this field.

Upgrade RB1100AHx2 from 5.25 to 6.0

I see broblem with Bridge between vlan interface and physical interfaces. Arp - ok, dhcp -ok, ping ip on bridge int - Ok, ping thru bridge - NOT Ok.

Downgrade to 5.25 is solving problem. I was testing it 2 times.

More detail try to post in 2-3 days. :(

6.0 on CCR and X86 (only one tested) still have the vrf issue. ITs 100% CPU, and not even possible to do a /export or supout from the boxes. Is there any solution to the vrf issue, that have been in almost all 6.x versions. ITs impossible to use vrf on CCR, and that is a REALLY bad thing.

I think I may have found a bug on x86 version of 6.0.

I believe that loopback interfaces (or in this case, a bridge without anything on it) might end up being broken when it comes to adding it within OSPFv3. On my MIPS-BE router (RB751) it works perfectly, but on my x86 router it shows as inactive and down.

Here's my MIPS-BE box:
[<redacted>@STUFF-NETWORK-WAP] /routing ospf-v3 interface> print
Flags: X - disabled, I - inactive, D - dynamic, P - passive
 # INTERFACE AREA COST PRIORITY NETWORK-TYPE

Both are configured identically. However on the x86 box it shows inactive and down. I've restarted the box, reconfigured the IP addresses, restarted the OSPFv3 process and area commands, disabled/enabled the loopback interface and still no go. On the MIPS-BE box it works perfectly. I have sent an email to support@mikrotik.com with the title of "OSPFv3 does not recognize loopback on x86, but it works in MIPS-BE‏" and the corresponding configs/screenshots/supout.rif files. Ticket is 2013052266001006.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Something I noticed about upgrading to 6.0 on x86. It kills all of the queues in queue tree. Once I rebuilt the queues everything else works.
kills? or just binds to 'unknown' interface instead of 'global-something'? isn't it because there's no 'global-something' in v6 and there's no 'global' in previous versions?
Chupaka, I think you're right. I think this is what's actually going on. However when I upgraded my MIPS-BE board, it actually kept everything on queues. Nothing too bad I guess, it's just something I noticed.

Just to confirm...

I've tested Queue Trees / Address lists / PPPoE Server

They all seem to be working fine.

I did a fresh install on a CCR-1036-12G-4S of ROS6.0 and restored a backup file from my production RB1100AHx2 running 5.25.

I did have to make some changes to the packet markings, queue trees, interface/IP bindings, etc.. Due to the change in ROS version and hardware. Also the packet markings had to be rearranged I believe due to the change in Queue Tree structure in ROS6. I was previously marking Download traffic in the Forward chain, I had to move to the Postrouting chain for it to mark and Queue appropriately. Also due to the lack of the old "Global-Type" queues I had to edit the Queue trees for the new "Golbal" queue.

I haven't tested the OSPF features, but others seem to have already confirmed these to be working properly.

This all seemed pretty straight forward to me. There's been some structural changes to RouterOS in v6, so as you should always do, test first before upgrading a production device.

Don't know if anyone else ran into this. I'm on a RB751U-2HnD and the default configuration script does not seem to be present in v6.0
I'm probably way under everyone else's skill level, i had to get into google to get the information below.
So the fact that it's not correctly setting up from scratch really had me in a bind.

Re: v6.0 released - Hotspot does not work

Wed May 22, 2013 9:53 pm

Today I upgraded my new RB2011UAS-IN to V.6 Then I wanted to build a hotspot. WAN IP was connected and works fine.
I did the setup with the winbox /ip-Hotspot-Servers-Hotspot Setup.
But when i connected a PC to the Hotspot Port, there was no redirectin to the login page. The Computer gets a normal Adress through DHCP.
Then i discovered, that the setup no longer provides the HTML-Files for the Redirection.
Well, I recovered the files from another RB2011 with V5.25. But the redirection still does not work. There seems to be some renaming of the HTML Files inside V.6.

Is that a normal behaviour?

You need to give your bridge interface an admin-mac-address. It will work fine in OSPFv3 afterwards!
Caveat: It may not work on first try, if it doesn't, assign a different admin-mac-address. You only have to do that once.

Ho...leee....shiteth...

You sir/ma'am are absolutely spot on. I did not know RouterOS requires this. Holy crap I'm an idiot :( :(

Thank you thank you...

Seems my Cisco then saw this change in the routing table:
STUFF-NETWORK-CORE#
28w0d: IPv6RT[Default]: ospf 1, Reuse backup for FDFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:0/126, distance 110
28w0d: IPv6RT[Default]: ospf 1, Reuse backup for FDFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:8/126, distance 110
28w0d: IPv6RT[Default]: ospf 1, Route add FDFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFB/128 [new 110/21]
28w0d: IPv6RT[Default]: ospf 1, Added path FE80::230:1BFF:FEBE:EB41/GigabitEthernet1/0/1
28w0d: IPv6RT[Default]: ospf 1, Route add FDFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFC/128 [owner]
28w0d: IPv6RT[Default]: ospf 1, Route add FDFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FF20/124 [owner]
28w0d: IPv6RT[Default]: Event: FDFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFF:FFFB/128, Add, owner ospf, previous None
There we go. We're all good :)

Hey all,

Upgraded to 6.0 from 5.17 without a hitch so far, however the System/Routerboard section of WebFig is all blank now. From what I recall, I was running firmware 2.36 and 2.39 was available but I never bothered to install it. Now I can't see the serial number or anything. If I go into the settings of that section, the dropdown boxes for boot device, CPU freq, etc are all empty. I'm running an RB450G. Any ideas?

Edit for just a couple more details:

The System/Health section is also completely empty, however the System/Resources section properly shows all data. Not sure if this helps. Thanks!

RESOLVED: It was the stylesheets of WebFig v5.17 being cached by my browser, thus not rendering things fully correctly in v6.0. Unsure if the WebFig HTTP server was reporting a 304 on those documents or not, but that could be a slight bug.

Do you, or have you in the past, used any type of branding package on this device? We have seen a few complaints, but are unable to reproduce it on any router. We tried many times.

full SSH access would be the best. also winbox and web, so we can see the problem. simply make a new user for support, which is in the "full" group. then disable firewall on the internet port, and send us your public IP

I have no rebranding - I bought the Routerboard at Meconet in Germany

But if you wish I can set up an access for you, with a fresh Installation (only WAN is provided)

After upgrading from 5.25 to 6.0 IPSec VPN (IP over IP tunnel via IPSec in transport mode) stopped to work.
A lot was logged (when enabled ipsec logging), incloding the following:
14:36:40 ipsec, debug fatal INVALID-PAYLOAD-TYPE notify messsage, phase1 should be deleted.
Solution was to enable default IPSec proposal (which isn't used and was disabled).

Re: v6.0 released

Thu May 23, 2013 6:01 pm

To avoid any migration issues after update of my RB493AGH, I did clean install via Netinstall, manually configured RB for required configuration.
Jono_MikroTik_6-0_before-reboot.jpg
Works fine, until reboot...

After reboot, external WAN interface is not presented in ARP list table, no ping from LAN to WAN.

DHCP client is still alive and is getting external IP.
Jono_MikroTik_6-0_after-reboot.jpg
Doing Restore from fresh Config file, and again - works fine, but until next reboot...

Switched back to my lovely 5.25

Any ideas?

Installed 6.0 on RB-750. When to System -> Reset Configuration and reset with "No Default Configuration" not checked. Box came up with no configuration present.

Loaded in a configuration backup from a V5 system and did "Restore". Box died. No link lights whatsoever.

Did a reset using the reset button. Wound up with no configuration present.

Bonding with ARP monitoring is not working, disable ARP monitoring or change to MII solve the problem, tested on 750g, 750gl, 1000AH and 1100AHx2
Agree for RB433UAHL also.
While you're working to fix it, bonding code can be temporarily backported from v5.25?
If it's possible.

In my test lab I see a great improvement in the wireless code. Especially for nstreme mode. Great work!

Hi,

CCR1036-12G-4S running GA v6.0

1. I have two static default routes setup.
2. I have a dst-nat setup.
3. I have a netwatch setup to monitor the primary default route.
4. Whenever I reboot the router the netwatch script fails to execute fully when it’s written like it is below. In fact it confuses route ID 0 for route ID 1 as well at times.
5. Whenever I re-wrote it to enable and disable via set [find comment=”Default Route”] disabled=yes the script works as it should.

Down:
:if ([/ping 10.0.0.1 count=2] = 0) do={
/ip firewall nat set enable 0;
/ip route disable 0;
/tool e-mail send to="person@email.com" subject="Gateway Down" body="Pinged out.";
}

Up:
:if ([/ping 10.0.0.1 count=2] = 2) do={
/ip firewall nat set disable 0;
/ip route enable 0;
/tool e-mail send to="person@email.com" subject="Gateway Up" body="Pinged in.";
}

I noticed that if the multicast package is installed but the routing package isn't, the Routing menu in Winbox does not have an icon. In fact I'm not sure that installing the routing package fixes it but I suspect it does.

Otherwise everything is fine, glad to see that the queue lockup issue has been fixed!

Have been trying to do netinstalls on them but it only gets to partition and format and nothing else happens.

Any sugestions?

I have a problem with PPP package on RB1000. After some time (about next a day after reboot, tested 2x) I don´t read via Winbox no parameter (PPPoE servers, Secrets, etc.) in PPP besides dynamic Interface. Attempt to remove this interfaces ends timeout. PPP does not even read over New Terminal and API (API for firewall working normally). V6rc14 working fine.

EDIT: In v6rc14 the same problem now :(.

Sorry, my English is not good :(

I've updated the ROS 5.18 x86 -> 6.0 x86
Everything worked, except vlan. Enables / disables the vlan interfaces, nothing helped. Rolled back to 5.18

Upgrade RB951-2n grom 5.25 to 6.0, seems ok

both downgraded to 5.25

I'll wait next release for other upgrade.

Because the Omnitik does not have a serial port I am at a loss of what to do to recover these devices and am also not inclined to reboot any more of my devices upgraded to 6.0 as they might also stop working.

Any help from MT or anyone out there will be greatly appreciated.

The 493G RB of mine has also vlan, EoIP interfaces (see post above), and might be either vlan, or EoIP interface is still unstabte with 6.0, or combination of them

As far as I remember, EoIP was unstable in 6.xx rc?

I also rolled back to 5.25, and again, works exclusively fine and stable with this version.

Timberwolf is right.....

OSPF issue is happening with us also...... getting flapped automatically. Downgraded to ROS 5.24...
I couldn't narrow down the cause by now, but it seem to be caused by short lineflaps or packet loss. So be carefull on unstable links.
I am guessing that its either an error in the state maschine or the associated timers.

Re: v6.0 released

Seeing v.6 at last is a nice thing, but it seems it was released too early. Anyone else suffering from "/system backup save" issues? The thing is that I had problems with earlier versions of RouterOS (v.5.2x) - it created broken backup files, which could not be restored. The behavior has changed in v.6 - now the backup starts and writes constantly to the nand until it is filled up to 100%. Output as follows:
/system backup save
Saving system configuration
Failed to save system configuration backup
action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)
I would appreciate any hints on how to solve this.

Thanks,
Lukasz

My problems started while I was still using RB450G, right now I have RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN configured in the same way as on RB450G and the problem is still there.

In 6.0, F5 (repaint syntax) in editor doesn't work. To do it, you need to close and open again editor.

*) ipsec - added /peer passive option which will prevent starting ISAKMP negotiation
and signifies xauth responder/initiator side;
*) ipsec - added pre-shared-key-xauth and rsa-signature-hybrid authentication methods;
GUI support for these features seems to be missing. GUI support for mode-cfg seems to be missing as well. When can we expect these options to be added to Winbox and Webfig?

Re: v6.0 released

Sun May 26, 2013 5:00 pm

I just upgraded from 6.0rc14 to 6.0 final and found that IPv6 conntrack is not working. None of the rules appear to create state (in the Connections tab in Winbox) and reply packets all hit my default drop rules at the end of each chain, instead of the "accept established/related" rules. This is only happening with the IPv6 firewall; IPv4 conntrack appears to work as it should. I opened a ticket (#2013052166000812) about this and attached a supout file.
I have the same problem. IPv6 conntrack doesn't work at all.

Re: v6.0 released

Sun May 26, 2013 7:28 pm

I am growing increasingly wary of Microtik's IPv6 support due to:
  • »Bridge-local« doesn't properly get a link-local IPv6 address at boot time resulting in no »router advertisements« being sent to connected hosts, in turn resulting in their IPv6 connectivity loss.
  • Even after deleting a faulty address (faulty as in »assigned to interface ›unknown‹«) a link-local address isn't recreated.
Furthermore:
  • Several different devices, having MIPSBE architecture in common, power up in some sort of reboot-loop. They're becoming inaccessible for minutes, sometimes even hours or quasi-permanent!
  • »bridge-local« still disappears in v6.0 FW 3.08 (RB951G-2HnD — I've removed bridges on every other device therefore I won't rule out the issue exists there, too)
I didn't hear a word from Mikrotik about these issues being addressed.

My RB435G after firmware update and reboot is unaccessible on all protocol :(
Internet works for now, but dhcp-server not! Must go reboot via power...

Problem resolved, CPU settings gone to 100Mhz... Disable WLAN`s set to normal 680Mhz
then reboot and enable WLAN resolved problem :)

Hi,
I setup Ros5.25 & Ros6.0 in different Virtual PCs.
In each Ros, I add 1000 pppoe-client and 1000 routes.
I use scripts below:
As for pppoe-client
:for sheng from=1 to=1000 do={/int pppoe-client
add interface=ether1 name=("pppoe-out" . $sheng) password=1 user=1}
As for Routes
:for sheng from=1 to=1000 do={/ip route
add disabled=yes distance=1 dst-address=0.0.0.0/0 gateway=("pppoe-out" . $sheng) routing-mark=$sheng scope=30 target-scope=10}
At last, I find that either Ros5.25 or Ros6.0 could enable more than 252 routes. If routes do not show reachable or unreachable, they can not be used in mangle. Here are pictures and supout files.
So Is the number of routes limited?
Thanks a lot.
Have a nice day!^_^

fresh x86 install on virtualbox:

i did a "system reset-configuration", on next boot i got a "no such file or directory" error, image attached.

virtual box related ?

Same issue on a ccr1016, using two different downloads of npk file.

Re: v6.0 released - hotspot not working!

Mon May 27, 2013 7:52 pm

I have also a problem with CCR and v6 and still with 6.1.
Hotspot makes redirect to login page, login takes place and user shown as "active" in CCR, also in radius server, but no redirect to status page and no online surfing on other pages possible.
Downgrade to v6 rc13 and everything is working fine.
Also working wirth v6rc14 - but after upgrade to v6 final it is not more working!

We have v6 on 2 CCR and one x86 in production. Works great! Soon we will add more CCR's.

Hope in next releases, wireless will be priority too.

What we have to do to make this work to provide CCR?
Well anyway we tried, it has many problems! Processing high, with almost nothing in it, knocking OSPF ...

paulmuhl,
check /file print and make sure all HotSpot folders and files are present (run /ip hotspot reset-html to get files on your router).
If files are present, make support output file and send it to support department (support@mikrotik.com).

Using RB493G with 2 wireless cards (wlan1 and wlan2). Both in AP mode, with 1-1 wds station connected.
When I select a new channel for wlan2, wlan1 disconnects as well. Of course, there is a big spacing between channels (100+ MHz)

both cards are running in 802.11-N and nv2, dual chain.

Anyone meet this? Or can reproduce?
(i've not met with this while running 5.x)

of course you can. but i recomend to downgrade "rc" version.

hello MT Support,
yesterday my RB951-2n suddenly reboot when i tested to transfer data over wireless with routing mode and no BW limitation. this may be causing bottleneck and rebooted the RB. is it normal?

thank you..

This is normal. It is because in v6 you must use the Channels tab to define a list of channels. Then, in this window, only specify that channel list name.

not the number of routes but the number of routing tables. to you really have more than 252 different gateways for policy routing?

thx for response , can U show me how in easiest way migrate from "old" way of defining scan list to "new" one?

also i dont see any export button for this , and it looks very complicated way... till 5.25 i just copy-paste my favorite channels....
i have to change something about 300-400 devices... please help

Make a tab in right corner, make it possible to scroll in winbox.

The change of one line per freq in scan list, make this function so much needed. From earlier, it was an issue to, but in so small grade. Now its an really big issue.

I have this scan list:

5390,5410,5430,5450,5470,5490,5510,5530,5550,5570,5590,5610,5630,5650,5670,5690,5180,5750,5770,5790,5810,5830,5850,5870,5890,5390,5410,5430,5450,5470,5490,5510,5530,5550,5570,5590,5610,5630,5650,5670,5690

Try this in 1024X768

Where you seeing vlans? This is physical Ethernet interface on 82598EB adapter. I have vlan's on ether2 and ether3, but not on ether1. This interface connected from 0.5 meters patchcord to other server on Centos 6.4. This server have 0 drops.

Upgraded RB450G from 5.24 to 6.0 and my meta-routers had all disappeared.

The virtual IF's were still present though but displayed unknown for meta-router.

Recreated the meta-routers with the same names and everything was then ok and all old data was present.

The queues dissapear after a short period of time from queue list and if try to added again i take this error message "couldn't add new simple queue-already have such name"
This happens on all my RB951 and SXT devices, too. They're accessible through the command shell, though.

I really hope that it is related to bridges disappearing and/or (independently) losing their IPv6 link-local addresses, and that all this can be fixed very soon.
In our [item X; Mark], the [Y; Mark] are working. […]
Normis, I don't meant to offend. Please accept this as my sincere advice, from one engineer to the other: The »it works for us« (»… and so should for you«) communicates on more than one level negatively. — It suggests that the customer is wrong. Even if this is the case, he is to be taken seriously and an (not *the*) error has a cause still to be found.
Furthermore it is anecdotal, unless you really had a test-case of 1'000 devices meant for QA in mind.
Finally the phrase is perceived in such a way that the issue won't be fixed or with low(est) priority.

There is something wrong and by communicating it we signal that we want to help you find the cause and help us fix a bug. You're, as Mikrotik or on behalf of, sometimes accepting that help, that's true, though, and held in high regard.

and for night parent queue time: 00:00:00 - 06:00:00

queue is shown "red" and not working... (ROS v.3, v.4, v.5 are OK) Where is the problem? Thanks!

It will be shown in RED when it's not the set time. When that time comes, it will turn active. Did you try using 23:59:59 instead of 0;0;0?

The queues dissapear after a short period of time from queue list and if try to added again i take this error message "couldn't add new simple queue-already have such name"
Same here on RB493
Same here on CCR1036
only appear if the server restarts
It's happening on my CCR1036 too. I know queues are working - I see it from the interface statistics, but all counters in the Queue Tree (when queues are showing, of course) are stuck. "/queue tree print rate" doesn't work either.

P.S. I wouldn't say they dissapear after some period of time - for me, it's when I re-login.

tested ros v6.0 CCR1036-12G-4S (tile)

I have a problem with Parrent in Queue. If I create the general record for "Parent" I can't set some IP addresses. Records are created, but after use of parameters all queue counters stoped. if I put 1 ip the address that other counters work and all counters for Parent are stopped.

I think it other situation. I suggest that Queue service began to work another way. Instead of ignoring of lines with not right syntax he tries to execute interpretation them. These are only my guesses. ;)
It is like the start of Unix Services. The firstly - a config rereading. The second - commands of service.
Where exactly there is a problem - a question to support.

Re: v6.0 released - HOTSPOT Issues/Feedback

Sat Jun 01, 2013 4:52 pm

Hotspot Issue:

RB450G > v6.0 > Hotspot
Problems:
login.html doesn't always load.
Once login attempted, no redirection or any website load.
Shows user session in Hosts/Users
Hotspot Files not complete - no login.html, alogin.html, etc

Installed v6.1rc1:
login.html loads quickly
redirects and web-browsing OK, except:
some websites will not load (aol.com, gmail, pogo.com, etc)

Downgraded to v5.24:
Running smoothly at this time.

NOTE: have left v6.1rc1 on remainder of eqpt in network.

On a POSITIVE Note:
As soon as we upgraded all of our eqpt to v6.0 (8 AP w/5.8 Backhauls), there was a NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT in network performance. improved WDS link CCQ, reduced latency, consistent client connections.

Thanks,
wwooley

Hello MikroTik,
Is VLAN working on 6.0 when enabled on x86 Intel PCI-X interface?
It's not working since first 6.x betas were released.
I've tested and VLANs do not appear to work in 6.0 on x86.
promind and timoid,
Could you please send supout.rif files to support@mikrotik.com for research?
Same to me. After upgrade to 6.0 for x86 all vlans stopped working. Reset config and doing it again also does not help.
Downgrade to 5.25 solved the issue.
Seems like 6.0 release for x86 has major issue with VLANs.
I wrote to support@mikrotik.com couple of days ago, but no answer ..... yet.

also i cannot add new queue without target
it's as it should be: if target is unknown, it's impossible to distinguish between upload and download; so 'tagret' is mandatory

Noticed the ping check on static routes didn't detect with the gateway went away I've sent this into support with the needed files anyone else seen this?
I had a /30 on a point to point over a Cat5 and a static route pointing to the ip on the far end with ping set as the gateway check, However even when I disconnected the cable the route was listed as reachable!!
Let me update this by saying I can't recreate it following a reboot so I don't know maybe something was stuck however this might be worth watching support have said they can't recreate the issue and I hope it was a one off as I don't want to have to downgrade

Hi, I have the following problems after upgrading from 5.25 to 6.0:
1. Graphs for Memory and Disk Usage don't work, when I click on them I get this error: ERROR: NO ACCESS!
2. Memory usage is very high, I get only about 20MB free on 6.0, while using 5.25 I had about 100MB free.
3. I see that 3 metarouters are installed by default, I haven't added them.

No VLANs either on v6 x86 on VMware ESXi 5.1 with E1000. Traffic without VLANs ist working normal. I can see Packets being send and received on the VLAN-Interface when doing nothing but ping to the IP of the VLAN-Interface. But I do not get an answer. Maybe the VLAN-RX is missimplemented so the switch drops the frames.
After downgrade to 5.25 everything works as expected. So no configuration issue.
Also VLANs on RB2011UAS (mipsbe) are working as expected under v6.

I will send a support.rif in a few minutes.

Please make sure your router is not connected to place, that has problems with broken MTU.
Do you have the same problem with those pages, when HotSpot server is disabled?

I've been using Mikrotik ROS and RB's for more then a decade now... But, never have I had this much issues... never... This is starting to be ridiculous...

Among other issues, after upgrade to final v6, my rb711 started rebooting by watchdog every time its CPU goes over 70-80%... I have this device working for 3 years, with uptime of more then a year... downgrade to 5.23 and no problem....

this is not good... please FIX FAST!

I have the same. After upgrading from 5.18 to 6.0 stopped working Vlan.

I asked about this issue 5 months ago in this topic http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69369.

Hi,

by UM v.6.0 after signup the user is not activated. The status in the payment-table is "waiting".
i have tested many times, the result is the same.

besides UM has not updated the user information by changing. GUI shows sometimes wrong informations or nothing.
i have reported this problem a long time, but nobody wants to fix this. We need stable version of UM.
Please do it, Thanks

some websites will not load (aol.com, gmail, pogo.com, etc)
Please make sure your router is not connected to place, that has problems with broken MTU.
Do you have the same problem with those pages, when HotSpot server is disabled?
No problem when hotspot disabled/bypassed. (Tested this using 3 different methods.) Downgraded to 5.24 with no other configuration changes -- web access issues resolved after downgrade.
NOTE: Router hosts the Hotspot - verified that multiple clients were experiencing the same issue while connected via different AP's throughout the network. All client issues verified resolved after downgrade.

Today have verified network still OK regarding expected web site access.

Thanks...

Same to me. After upgrade to 6.0 for x86 all vlans stopped working. Reset config and doing it again also does not help.
Downgrade to 5.25 solved the issue.

In the last 2 weeks we've had 2 SXT HPnD's fail following the installation of RouterOS 6.0

Both are completely dead, no link light on the ethernet port, only the power LED on the unit it's self. Trying to use the button to do a netinstall doesnt work, as the user LED never flashes.

Dont know if it's coincidence, or that the SXT doesnt like 6.0

Hi, I have the following problems after upgrading from 5.25 to 6.0:
1. Graphs for Memory and Disk Usage don't work, when I click on them I get this error: ERROR: NO ACCESS!
This one is also true for me, no resource graphs available for viewing.

Hi paka!

I had some problems too. Check active certificate under ip/services so that the correct certificate
is choosen.

Also check if you can rebuild the database in winbox/terminal - tool user database rebuild without errors

I had one database getting corrupted when upgradeing to ROS6 and the certificate also change on one hotspot

I have the same issue. Skype, ping, icmp, sip all that works fine, except webaccess. Clients say "still waiting for DNS" but nslookup works fine and DNS Servers are the Google DNS.

Hi jcem,

thank you very much for answer and counsel.
I check always certificate and look under ip/services by testing
Before to upgrade our database, at first i have tested v6.0 with blank database.(tested the database from v6.0)
So it is not working with v6.0, but by v5.24 and v5.25 it is working. Tested UM with paypal payment.
I have not tested to rebuild the database, but i'll do it and report about my result.

Regards,
paka

There is something wrong with TORCH. If you´re in Simple Queue, and choose TORCH it gets an src-address IP address totaly crazy. Like, my network is 192.168.1.0/24. WHen I TORCH from Simple Queue it show me a Src. Address 86.0.0.0/0 and the error message: Could´nt start - bad src-address. No way to torch from Simple Queue.

Re: v6.0 released

Thanks MikroTik for wonderful hardware and software! And congratulations with release! :)

I want to report a bug with IPSec.

In my configuration, with RouterOS v6 ipsec will not work if the first request will be made from RB1100AHx2 to any Mips router with v6, also it will not work from RB1000 to RB1100AHx2. But if the request is coming from a mips device, the RB1100AHx2 will accept it and IPSec will work. The upgrade files used for both mips and ppc devices were taken from the all_packages-ppc-6.0 and all_packages-mipsbe-6.0 zip files. I tried to solve with support guys, but they were asking for supout, and i can't put the network offline, again. It's a prod environment. The only solution was to go back to RouterOS v5.25 on the RB1100AHx2, as well as on RB1000. The mips devices, rb2011, rb750, etc. can work with v6.
Re-registered after i was banned, maybe this info will help someone :)))))

Re: v6.0 released

Thu Jun 06, 2013 10:05 pm

I have recently upgraded an RB750GL from rOS 5.25 to 6.0 and the simple queues stop working.
Each queue have been working perfectly fine on 5.25 but on 6.0 (with firmware upgraded also) stop processing traffic. The queues only have the client IP address (for ex: 10.1.191.10) in "Target" and "Download" and "Upload" limit.
I tried erasing every queue and regenerating but stays the same.

Anyone have this kind of problem or know how to solve it?

Thanks in advance! :?

First of all, I wish to thank the Mikrotik team for their good work. You guys are awesome!

I have a question regarding this release. I've upgraded few days ago and now my router experiences a new memory consumption phenomenon (see the attachment). I would consider it as a memory leak bug, but since it is a major version upgrade prior reporting I'm just wondering are there any new caching services enabled in this particular release? If so, then I would like to know what exactly are those in order to disable them.

My configuration is:
x86 Router OS on a multicore CPU
two virtual machines on KVM (their normal memory consumption is visible on the left of the pic)
Web Proxy was always disabled and I also checked it first, when I saw the memory graphic.
Hotspot normally for 60-90 clients

The only thing I've changed in my config right after upgrade was enabling the mac-cookie option (which was my reason for upgrading, otherwise I never upgrade if everything is stable). Normis, if you will consider this issue as a bug, then I will send the supout.

First of all, if possible, try the above v6.1 version.

If problem persists - Make two files, right after you reboot, and then after a while when the memory is eaten up. Send both files to support.

 i'm gonna try this new v6.1 released

Edit:
tested 6.1 released (Jun/06/2013 16:11:56)
- NOT FIXED, error in usermanager web-ui (web-ui ignoring timezone setting)
- FIXED, ip > hotspot > active - Bytes Out, Packets Out, Tx Rate, Tx Rate stays in 0 bps :)
- NEW ERROR, on boot, there's an error about xxx...fastpath.ko not loading or something (can't afford to test that version again to see the msg again since alot of ppls will angry at me)

Back to 6.0rc14 again now (with error in usermanager web-ui (web-ui ignoring timezone setting) only)

I give up on Ros6, dear mikrotik, no offence but you release software way too early,
I'm a network corporate administrator
And a Linux server administrator, I manage the servers behind the development farms and Staging farms AND the Live production Farms.

You make have so many flaws in how you release software, I dont think you could fathorm the amount of detail we go though to make sure software is worthy, Frankly my personal opinion is i feel its careless.

I will give you credit, that you dont charge astronomical prices, and you might limit your staff, or have difficulty with getting enough staff, so okay credits to you.

but honestly, probably early days when mikrtik was released you had a alot of us consumers to help you test as the software was Very early, but your OVER the that Line, for what is accepted as early development, you have from a company that needs community support to selling production hardware/software

Your first thing was how many people Ranted at you for selling that CCR thing, and not telling people its a development type product, ive read the posts and read the comments.

So, here is the part where i stop ranting and try help, I have been a member for a long time, like 8 years now...
So please dont think this is another rant of someone who just wants to cry....

You need to be accepting that your running very low on the community that is willing to BETA test your software
this in turn makes it difficult for you to get response's before you " release "
This is why we see you guys say all the time " not one person reported this issue "
Also I have reported issues that went ignored, One of a few of my issues i reported you said you will fix, but it just never happened.

I dont know what else to say, I like you guys alot, I just want you to try redesign your testing platforms

I have to go back to version 5 because a problem i reported on the very first day you released the beta rc 6 has not been resolved.

Also Alot of companys are heading into PCI compliancy, I in fact am banned from using your product in anything i touch at work because of a survey, that went though some of our network guys, that it lacks support, and it full of bugs.....

The last time i spoke like this i tried to help you in setting up a Bug Ticketing System Like Source forge... ( downloadable)

This is what i got when i downgraded, from ros6 to ros5

In the pictures below From bottom to TOP
you can see 3 x Local Bridges AND 2 x Bridge1

they mysteriously appeared after vanishing on ros6 every time i rebooted, HENCE why there are so many an indictation of how many times i had to re add the bridge interfaces, on this box alone.

On top of that, mikrotik there was issues with your static routes and metrics

I set a manage rule to mark routing, IE dual load balancer Nth Method, I know its setup correctly, Because I was involved in the creation of the first Load balancer scripts in 2005
Basicly when you set the static route with the route mark even or odd, it would not use it, just stayed "blue"

Good day!
I wrote above about router rebooting on rc12. So.
I have installed Dude4.0beta3 package on the device (rc11). Updating to rc12 brought to reboots. Router worked on rc11 before today.
Today I tried to upgrade to ROS6.0 release and the router began reboots again :D Next, router has netinstalled again for ROS6.0 - and all stayed ok! After this Dude4.0beta3 has installed and all work!
These all say that the dude package brought to reboots after upgrading a release, or the updating process goes wrongly=)

P.S. This post is also in rc12 thread, just in case.

Hello I have upgraded 2x RB750GL from v5.25 and v5.19 to v6.0 and after upgrade everything was OK. Now I tried reset to default using reset button/reset hole and I'm unable to connect to these routers. They seems to not have IP of any kind (both were default 192.168.88.1).
Can somebody help me please?

I've seen the same issue on RB751U-2Hnd and RB951-2n. On v6.0 there seem to be no such thing as default configuration, at least on these devices. On v6.1 rc1 (that rc1 that was available to downloaded on the day I was trying it, which is... probably nobody knows what exact version of v6.1 rc1 it was :? ) there already were such thing as default configuration, but it was "slightly" different from what we all used to see on the previous ROS versions:

Image

So. I guess your device has no IP address at the moment. Try connecting to your device using WinBox by MAC address.

RouterOS 6.0 upgrade on RB532A goes something like:

Welcome to MikroTik Router Software remote installation
Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to abort

<Usual netinstall stuff, key etc...>

Formatting disk.....

installed system-6.0
installed advanced-tools-6.0
installed dhcp-6.0
installed ipv6-6.0
installed mpls-6.0
installed multicast-6.0
installed ntp-6.0
installed openflow-6.0
installed ppp-6.0
installed routing-6.0
installed security-6.0
installed wireless-6.0
Writing configuration...

Software installed.
Press ENTER to reboot

... reboot ...

loading kernel from nand... OK
setting up elf image... OK
jumping to kernel code
opendir: No such file or directory
opendir: No such file or directory
ERROR: no system package found!
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

This happened when upgrading from 5.19, and when doing a fresh Netinstall with RouterOS 6. I'm guessing this isn't the expected result. Went back to 5.25 and all is fine.

Could this have something to do with some RB532As having 128MB flash, but RouterOS usually only using 64MB? (The boot loader is 2.18)

I forgot to install ntp packet on previous state "all work" system. Did it, and RB951 began reboot. So this dude package damages the install manager? Don't uderstand.
Now I don't want install the dude because each upgrade of the system will occur rebooting...

Actually I've been experiencing the same with facebook over ipv6 in the last couple of days at multiple locations.
But I'm using openwrt on my home router, so I rather think this has to do something with facebook.
However, it started to work yesterday normally again, maybe you should give it another try.

After upgrade from 5.25 to 6.0 PPPoE client disconected after 3 hours on x86. System reboot PPPoE client conect again. Back to 5.25 all is OK.
Same problem with RB7xx . Manual disconnect and reconnect PPPoE client solves problem for few hours .

Edit:
tested 6.1 released (Jun/06/2013 16:11:56)
- NOT FIXED, error in usermanager web-ui (web-ui ignoring timezone setting)
- FIXED, ip > hotspot > active - Bytes Out, Packets Out, Tx Rate, Tx Rate stays in 0 bps :)
- NEW ERROR, on boot, there's an error about xxx...fastpath.ko not loading or something (can't afford to test that version again to see the msg again since alot of ppls will angry at me)

Back to 6.0rc14 again now (with error in usermanager web-ui (web-ui ignoring timezone setting) only)

Both of the above issues are fixed in v6.1 todays build

V6.0 RC14 (CCR 1036-12G-4S)

Bonding 2xGiga interfaces (802.3ad, L3 and L4 Hashing). Remote side is an Alcatel Metro Router.

Our transmit is flowing through only 1 interface instead of 2 interfaces and it is also suffering from low throuhput (only tx).
Although Alcatel is properly utilizing both channels while transmitting without any throuhput issues.

Mikrotik, this is serious. Could you please try to replicate ?

Ticket#2013020566000411

Multicast routing (PIM-SM) same source to different interface doesn't work in CCR1036.
Same ROS version and same configuration (1. RP, 3. Interface) work like a charm in RB2011.

The problem exist with all RC ROS version and final 6.0 and CCR1036 firmware version (3.04,3.05).

This topic is about v6.0 and v6.1, yet your report is about an RC version. Please upgrade to v6.1 (link is above) and see if the problem is still there.

There is over 1250mbit passing through this router.

Are you sure that is it safe to try this pre-release version ?

Dear Normis!

Ticket#2013020566000411

Multicast routing (PIM-SM) same source to different interface doesn't work in CCR1036.
Same ROS version and same configuration (1. RP, 3. Interface) work like a charm in RB2011.

i.e.: Same IPTV channel routed to different interface at the same time only 1 of the clients is getting same stream.

CCR1036 multicast routing (PIM) configured (1.RP and 3. Interface). When the client watching Music Television (same multicast IP source) another client (set-top box) via different VLAN interface in CCR1036 (another network segment) can not watch Music Television at the same time and vice versa. Which client (set-top box) is watching Music Television for first... win...

So this is a big problem in IPTV environment with CCR1036.

The RB2011 in same network and same configuration works well with all ROS(5)(6) version.

I upgraded from 5.25 --> 6.0 on an RB450G that I manage and all hell broke loose. whole network went down on the inside. Turns out IP addresses weren't being leased or if they were the ACKs weren't coming back. Total disaster. Had to downgrade to 5.25 to get things back to normal.

Anyone have any ideas what went on here?

I successfully upgraded from 5.25 --> 6.0 on my watchguard x86 platforms.

Is 6.0 ok in the CCR?

THanks leon

Bug tracker would be very useful. It is complicated to read all topics and search bugs... Fixed bugs, etc...
Please make official BUG TRACKER

Something like this http://bugs.mikrotik-routeros.com/view_all_bug_page.php
Thanks

Hello,

There is a issue with DNS instance. I have added about 15000 static entries in /ip dns static to make DNS blackholing and dns is stopping to respond on dns query. CCR is responding for icmp echo, winbox is active etc... but DNS server crashes every once in a while.

I'm using CCR1036-12G-4S with RouterOS 6.1, same problem was on v6.0.

Don't do that, DNS on MikroTik is very basic. If you really need that many static entries use an external dns(bind etc).

I bought two CCR1036 to make dns cache with vrrp redundancy. Don't tell me this will not work. I think there is a issue in dns daemon. Without loaded static entries it's working flawless. So i think there has been an error of some kind.

The latest version does it fix anything related to nat/pppoe connections? It seems pppoe over adsl modem bridge just hang.

The download links are too slow!!! 2 hours to download a small file?

I've tested it's performance... BIND on single core machine is faster cache server then CCR. It's worst spent 2.000 $ ever.
Any plans to make it any less useless?

Normis, if you will consider this issue as a bug, then I will send the supout.
drusha, did you contact support with supout.rif file before reboot and after reboot? please send those files
