Hi,
I have two routerboards - RB450G and RB951G and want to setup VLAN switching and trunking between the two using the switch chip, rather than bridging and have not been successful.
I was wondering if someone here can help me to establish if my configuration is feasible and supported or am I heading the wrong way...
As I have not managed to set it up, I wouldn't be able to export any configs.
My planned setup is as follows:
RB450G - Main router
ether1 --> Internet link
ether2-5 are switched using switch chip, with ether2 as the master, ether3-5 as slave to ether2
ether2 --> VLAN 10 (Access port)
ether3 --> Trunk connection to RB951G (VLAN 10 & VLAN 20)
ether4 --> Trunk connection to VMware ESXi (VLAN 10 & VLAN 20)
ether5 --> VLAN 20 (Access port)
RB951G
ether1-5 are switched using switch chip, with ether1 as the master, and ether2-5 as slave to ether1
ether1 --> Trunk connection from RB450G (VLAN 10 & VLAN 20)
ether2 --> VLAN 10 (Access port)
ether3 --> VLAN 10 (Access port)
ether4 --> VLAN 20 (Access port)
ether5 --> VLAN 20 (Access port)
Both routerboards are running RouterOS 5.25
I would be really grateful if someone could point me to the right direction or provide a sample configuration which I can adapt for my environment.
Thanks!
