HotSpot Vs PPPoE using Prepaid Cards

Mon Aug 26, 2013 1:07 pm

Hi

I am currently using Hotspot Network along with Prepaid Generated Cards using Radius Manager (DMA)
The network is working fine but problem arises when users insert their own Wi-Fi Routers in the network and start alloting IPs with DHCP plus we are loosing control on active users and their identification

I want to shift all the users to PPPoE using the same prepaid cards generated by Radius, I have experimented my self and their is no issue found in testing. Can anyone tell me if their are any issue in live environment with PPPoE in this scenario as compared to HotSpot

Currently i have around 1000 users with 400 active users at a time

There is no problem becuase you can have service hotspot and a PPPoE server in the same interface.
You can use the same user accounts adding the necesary PPP attributes.

I have several user manager working with this configurartion and it works fine.
