So what does that have to do with the stream dying?
Atheros is in fact Qualcomm Atheros, after Qualcomm bought Atheros a couple of years ago.Normis - What means "New Atheros “Scorpion” CPU"
It is mipsbe, powerPC, or? How many Mhz?
Then it's either not Scorpion-based or QA chose to use the nickname again for another (Not yet official?) architecture - which would mark the first time (afaik) that a vendor does so.it is MIPSbeSo the new RB953 is ARM based.
Good idea! I just hope for them they didn't pay $3.3bn just fro some naming rightsmy guess is - Atheros had this in works when Qualcomm acquired them. For us - nickname just stuck.
No, according to link provided by Normis:RB953GS-5HnT will have 3 chain 5GHz wireless, does that mean that this will be 802.11ac ?
The new reference platform features the QCA9558 dual-band, 3-stream 802.11n system-on-chip (SoC)
CRS runs RouterOS, and will have new Switch related settings. It will be wire speed because, well, it's a switchWill CRS be able to deliver "Wire Speed" on all ports so it can be used as a "Coreswitch" in a bigger network?
Is there any limitations in the chip how much it can process effectivly?
Will it run SwitchOS or (preferably;) ) RouterOS?
And most important: When will it be available??
It looks more like an indoor device.I see the mAP appears to take a standard DC input jack. Will this device allow for ESD grounding via the ethernet drain wire? Or, is there an alternative approach?
Yes, absolutely - I took that viewpoint too. Similar in concept to UBNT's AirGateway, running a full RouterOS.It looks more like an indoor device.I see the mAP appears to take a standard DC input jack. Will this device allow for ESD grounding via the ethernet drain wire? Or, is there an alternative approach?
Ah ok I see I was miss understanding it!My question was what do we do with the ESD from the outdoor antenna (e.g.: SXT)?
Yes, but this pairing is with a chip that RB953 doesn't use. So it doesn't apply to this product.Under the link you where showing up to Qualcomm-Atheros, they where making the following press statement:
unable to confirm this right nowThe CCR1009 looks really great but is the TILE-Gx9 platform sorted wit a high
speed encryption engine called MiCA or is this a variant without MiCA?
And how many RAM can be inserted as a maximum?
it has so many ports, that you can use it for different purposes. SFP could be used to go up the tower for long distances. or can be used indoors like a router. It will have multiple wlan interfaces, so CPE/AP/Sector is also possible. Depends on what you need - it can do it all.But what kind of device is the RB953GS-5HnT or what is the main usage of this device?
Is it a small router or more a WLAN AP (CPE) device?
Great to from you, I´ll take one for testing it out!Depends on what you need - it can do it all.
