can't rename imported certificate?

Fri Dec 20, 2013 4:28 pm

can't rename imported certificate?

I use this command to import:
/certificate import file-name=ca.crt
/certificate import file-name=ca.key

in v6.3 it used to name it cert1 after importing, now in v6.7, it names it cert_1 and all my scripts and SSTP connections is used to cert1

can anyone please help me?, me upgrading due to bugs and then things like this happened.

Every time I make a config file that's generic and work fine on all routers, until I upgrade something, and then I have to modify and start all over again to make my config files compatible with all the changed commands and stuff with the new ROS version.

really annoying mikrotik!!!!!!!!!!!!

no problem importing the certificates, via winbox terminal or ssh

I just don't want it to be called cert_1 when importing, in all the other versions it used to be cert1 after importing, how can I import it as cert1?

Ok, Ive figured out how to rename the thing, my main problem is, WHY!!! does this upgrade change the way things work, now I have to add a line to my config setup file so that my cert_1 can rename to cert1 for all my future routers??

I found this too.

Workround is in the CLI

/certificate print

<get the index number, N>

/certificate edit N

<at the prompt, enter 'name'>
value-name: name

edit the value, *don't press enter*
CRTL-O to save

Not working for me in 6.9 on a 2011L. I still get the read-only warning.

Former workaround of changing name in Webfig no longer works. Pretty sure it did in 6.7. Now Webfig throws me back to the login prompt and says internal error. Different browsers (Chrome, Firefox) on different OS (Windows, Ubuntu) don't make a difference.

New-to-me CLI workaround listed above doesn't work. Pressing enter after providing a name at the value-name prompt gives an error; pressing ctrl-o as suggested above doesn't work either. I've never used the CLI method for this so I don't know what to expect (though pressing Enter in response to a prompt seems logical to me).

Tried to downgrade to 6.7 to at least get Webfig working, but that didn't work. Back to 6.9 I did a reset config to defaults and power-cycle. No dice.

Update: Same results on my CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD upgraded earlier today to 6.9.

Are you guys able to use the certificate.
I haven't been able to connection over openVPN since I upgraded to v6.10.
I used openvpn to create the certificate and it works on my other tiks running 5.21, but not on 6.10, did something changed?

Manuelm, this post is for a different problem but OpenVPN's function has been a problem in the latest firmware releases. There are other posts and information in the firmware release notes about this.

A quick test shows the rename problem not addressed in 6.10. This is true in Winbox and on the web interface. CLI doesn't seem to work either.

OpenVPN still works in 6.10 as I have tested. But renaming the certificates in winbox is not working.
