Mikrotik accounting only - without authentication

Fri Jan 03, 2014 2:05 pm

I have a network with users that are already authenticated and have IP addresses allocated.

I would like to know if I can deploy a Mikrotik router to manage the bandwith they use. I would envisage the router sending Accounting requests using the source IP address allocated to identify the user on my server.

In other words I don't want to use Mikrotik authentication but I want to use accounting and bandwidth management features.

Many thanks

ex: You can make a hotspot with one user with username: user1 and password: test1
and in login.html write this:

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url=login?username=user1&password=test1">
<meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache">
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="-1">
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

When the user connects to your network, he will be auto login by hotspot without login page needs to come up.
So, you will have the accounting and bandwidth management features without users to see any login page !!!
