Gateway unreachable when reconnect PPTP

Wed Mar 05, 2014 6:43 pm

Hi guys,

I have two Routerboard 1200 (example router 'A' and 'B').
'A' connect to 'B' with PPTP.
I add static route of A's network on 'B', everything okay, I see reacheble gateway on routing list.
Routing worked beetwen two networks.

But when PPTP connection lost and reconnect 'A' on 'B', the gateway state stay unreachable, not changed to reachable.

Is it normally?

Regards,
Gabor

Get rid of the static route and do the following:

Under the PPP secret for Router A, add a route entry under "routes" for that subnet.

When the PPTP connection is dialed and connected, it will dynamically create the route to RouterA's subnet automatically using the tunneled IP address, that way the route is always up-to-date.
