Hi there,

I am curious about the suggest sales prices and the general availability of the new devices. Can you provide me with a rough estimate for the new products? Which quarter are they shipping?
I am especially interested in the mAP, as it might solve a couple of issues I have ...

Normis,

Any thoughts for adding the mAP in the RouterBoard section without case, wlan and the power adapter in a more convenient place for OEM applications?

I am saying that because as it looks like, the mAP is going to be the ultimate VPN solution for OEM and i think it worth it because it will be
a new kind in the RouterBoard family without too much effort.

I am renting machines to my customers and i need to monitor them for providing SLA, cost etc and i am struggling to fit the RB750 inside but all i want is 2 ports (one for the machine and the second for the VPN)

Also doubling the disk size? :D

are you planning good-looking indoor case for mAP? Something like Unifi o Ruckus?

I can not imagine this case in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel. Some places need a prettier case and that is why I refer a ruckus or unifi.

See this, http://www.rfelements.com/en/products/e ... ox-inspot/

They have the solution to products that are missing. Why do you not manufacture directly? a simple plastic housing can make a difference

It is very small, 6x6 cm! And why would you place it in a visible location?

Any answer to my question?
Currently we have no plan to offer it without case and PSU. Maybe if there will be significant demand.

You don't need 1600mw wireless for Rooms, Office, Hostel ... keep in mind it is not only how far can your signal go, but also if signal from your clients will get back ... in this kind of setup you will be dealing with laptops (100mw), tablets (80mw) and phones (50mw) ... what use is to get your signal kilometers away if devices you are targeting can respond only about a fraction of that distance ... boosting power on your AP will not increase power on your clients devices. Solution is to place more devices with LOWER power and nonoverlaping channels.

Hi Guys,
The new products look great and I can't wait to et my hands on the CCR1072 as this looks like it has the ports that we need.

Its great that MikroTik have models with multicore processors, but none of the firmware can use more than a single thread at the moment!

We have a few CCR1036 routers which work great, but we run BGP on them with full routing tables and the BGP process is only using 1 core which is constantly running at 100%.
We have just installed the new v6.11 firmware which has reduced the CP usage slightly, but it is still only using 1 ore at a time for BGP.
One of the routers took 7 minutes to load the full routing table from 1 BGP peer which is quite a long time.

When are MikroTik going to get multithread support on the firmware so that we can make full use f the powerful multicore processors?

Kind regards,
Marc

this is most certainly not true

only loading of the table works on one core. all routing itself works on all cores, as do most other features. you have basically stumbled on one of the last remaining single threaded processes

Hi Guys,
Once the routing is received we are still seeing high individual core usage.
Once BGP has processed all of the routes it generally doesn't have to process many routes as the only change a little.

We have been asking for BGP to be made multithreaded for quite some time as we are desperate to be able to make full use of the multicore processors.

It would be nice if we could actually set a maximum number of cores that BGP could use.
If we could also set this for OSPF as well it would make the routers very powerful.

Please let us know when the BGP process will be multicore capable and if we will be able to set the maximum number of cores that we want it to run on.

Kind regards,
Marc

Our whole routing subsystem will have to be made again. We are working on new routing engine for the future v7, but I can't make promises about that, too early to tell.

Hi Guys,
It would be useful for us (and other MikroTik uses) to know exactly what processes or features are multithread supported.
Could you post a complete list of what features / modules or processes will work with multiple cores and how many cores they will work with maximum?

If you could ask you development team to see how easy (or how hard) it would be t make the routing subsystem work with at least half the number of cores in the CCR series of routers as this would be a vast improvement on speed f the device and BGP loading times.

Kind regards,
Marc

Dual power supplies... thank god. I'd buy it just for that. Now we are getting to enterprise level (please no adapters).

Any idea on pricing for that beast? (CCR)
