Hi

I can't find any info confirming this possibility

I'd like to use a CRS125, on top of other things, as hotspot

Is there any reason why I couldn't do this ?

Thanks
Yann

Virtually you can do anything with RouterOS on any hardware.
Sometime the limitation are the memory, the internal storage and the License Level.

The CRS125 coming out with Level 5 license (max 500 concurrent active users and max 50 user manager active sessions), 128MB of ram and 128MB of internal storage.

Technically can be used as HotSpot, but with this size of memory, I suggest not over 500 concurrent users  .

Actually in my Gateway (RB100AHx2, ROS 6.7, BIOS 3.10) 313 users cost 61MB of memory...

CRS are able to do anything, but initially is constructed to do switching!!!

[J'espère que mon intervention a été utile. A bientôt]

Nope other than the memory limits... seems like overkill port-wise. Personally I actually use it as my home router.

So if understand this properly one really needs a PC
with RouterOS on it to properly run a Hotspot with
enough memory ?

Or some of the other boards with more memory.
