is the OS upgrade a demo or what?

Sun Mar 23, 2014 3:58 pm

hello

I have 3 RB912'S , installed all of them on the tower, two of them were ungrounded and I've upgraded their OS to ver 6.10 ( level 4 license ) ( their original version of OS were also level 4 ).

after about 2 weeks of the upgrade , the 2 upgraded routerboard stopped to work in the same day.

the third (the not upgraded one ) Routerboard continued to work.

I've tried to reset the faulty RB's but it didn't solve the problem.

I've solved it by reinstalling version 6.11 of OS to them using netinstall.

my question :
- is the ver 6.10 OS a demo one that will stop to work after the period of time? or the problem was because of another thing that I don't know?

could you help me please?

6.11 hasn't been out two weeks. Sounds like you have an old release candidate.

Nope, they are not demo versions. What could have happened, is that your installation got corrupted by some power outage or similar issue, so they lost their config and license. When there is no license, router works for 24h and shuts down.
