One ether port - ip multiple pools

Thu Nov 06, 2014 4:55 pm

I have more than 700 devices potentially wanting to connect through one ether port which has an ip pool 192.168.113.10-192.168.113.253. How can I get this to overrun to the next pool of addresses and still provide a valid gateway to the user.

Thanks in advance for your help

Are these 700 devices wired or wireless or a combination to the network?

Are they all within the same area, (like office building)?

You say your IP pool is 118.10 to 118.253, that is only 240 IP's and no IP pool will allow for more then 253 IP's.

If you need 700 IPS you will need to do some rebuilding of the network, to include more routers and/or managed switches.

Hi,
Just make a new pool with a larger subnet, /22 for example, so you will have this ip range:
192.168.113.0 - 192.168.116.254
