RouterBoard settings not taking

I am trying to reset my router board with the reset button. Which currently is not working. I go into system/routerboard/settings. I then change it to enable reset. The setting will not take. I just reboot it without a reset and the option set back to no also tried changing boot delay and it will not take either? Any thoguhts

That does seem strange - have you tried booting up into the bootROM with a serial connection and looking for the setting in there?

Have you tried using the system > reset configuration menu?

Yes the reset works from the command line. The reset button finally worked after holding the button in turn power off leaving the reset button pushed in applying power and waiting for it to double beep finally reset consistently.
