Error in "Current Firmware Version" in system/routerboard?

Tue Jun 16, 2015 5:53 pm

I update several SXT from 6.11 to 6.29.1, all with 3.10 firmware
After reboot, the Current Firmware version was 3.22, but I never upgrade firmware version!

So, firmware version is automatically upgraded now??

Yes, some of the newer units update firmware automatically.

After you reboot for ROS update, you will see the standard firmware update message in the log, and after another reboot, you will have newest firmware automatically.

Error in "Current Firmware Version" in system/routerboard?

Again. New undocumented feature. It should make double reboot in this case automatically and do not put an administrator into situation that each device will work in different way after the first reboot then after the second reboot.

Oh,
dont take it as panic. it is not. Just another not documented feature. We are still talking here about the security and it also means, we need to be informed about behaviour changes in order to decice whether to upgrade or not. This is breaking the confidence again.

Or do you want to have reflashed the computer bios sometimes on the second reboot after you you have installed some system update package without any notice and ability to control it? I dont believe in this...

You are quite open in some cases, so why are you keeping in secret such things leaving on users to find out what you have changed (and broke manytimes - but it is not the actual topic)?

And yes, I remember that there were bios updates that made big headache to some of participants here on the forum.
