What about these other bugfixes of the latest .33 RC? They are not present in .32.1. Will they be included in a future .32.x release?

*) RB532/RB564 - fixed no link after ethernet disable/enable;
*) tile - fixed occasional deadlock on module unload;

they will be in v6.33 as the RC name suggests.
Only critical issues were backported to 6.32.1

In addition to the closed topic http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 65#p498465

I happened to notice in System - Resources that one of the spare RB750UP devices has 250MHz CPU frequency instead of the normal 400MHz.

I do remember that just loaded ROS (twice) and upgraded firmware, but did not change CPU frequency manually.
Somehow it decreased itself, which led to a noticeable increase in the configuration file saving time and increased loading CPU by everyday Simple Queues/Firewall payload.

But I still can't believe that this strange CPU frequency self reduction will result in congestion device by management process or provoke a reboots or crashes when creating supout.rif -- that was a real bug, IMHO.

Please look if somebody noticed this issue too.

Ansy, if the Kernel has crashed in a specific way, the CPU could be lowered.

You can just set it back. We will fix this issue so that it goes back to the original value. Thank you for reporting it.

Are the ones below not critical? The first may require a reboot or site visit to fix, the second speaks for itself.

*) RB532/RB564 - fixed no link after ethernet disable/enable;
*) mesh - fix router lock-up when interface is added/removed

Besides, you said the point releases are to include bugfixes, not features. Bugs are not only the critical ones, right? How hard is it to backport these fixes anyway?

Are you sure that those changes doesn't break any other boards or feature?
have you tried them in ALL possible configurations?

fixes that breaks other stuff happened too many times before, you do not have to look too far - latest example was v6.31 and v6.32 release.

Just want to make sure I understand the release cycle...does this mean no new fixes will be added to 6.30.4 and that 6.32.1 is the latest bugfix?

No. Version name does not indicate the release chain. v6.30.4 is still the bugfix release.

v6.32.1 is the current one, because it includes also a lot of other changes (see v6.32 section of the changelog)

RouterOS will start showing the package chain in v6.33 so you will know what you have installed

Good to hear....We have had a lot of success and stability with 6.30.x bugfix so far and hope to see it around for a long time as the most "stable" production version of RouterOS in the 6.x release family.

Please, put all the fixes of errors that occur in 6.30.4 to 6.30.5. Especially the RB532/RB564 - fixed no link after ethernet disable/enable

Make at least one version that will safely work! Let it be 6.30.

Thank you.

It could happen that some fix to 6.30.4 implies a significant change, so it does not belong in Bugfix directly.

So does it implies that there will never be stable ros version? Right?

6.30.x would be stable, but for certain fixes you would have to move to 6.32.x when it is stable and in Bugfix too, then 6.30.x could be abandoned.
At that point 6.33.x would be Current.

I guess the stable branches would not have to be abandoned too soon to ensure that the following one is really good and provide certainty to people who otherwise had no problem staying on the "broken" stable branch.

Note that it would even be possible that 6.32 is deemed unfixable in some other way and never enter Bugfix, so you would either have to wait in 6.30.x until 6.33.x enters Bugfix, or if your problem is too critical, try Current.

I think that for backporting of difficult fixes, rc versions not tagged as Bugfix on the stable branch would be needed. This would actually be a good idea for every release on the stable branch.

I guess for simplicity they would not have to be labeled rc, just not tag them as Bugfix immediately, but there should be a way of easily but safely seeing them on the upgrade page.

I think Mikrotik needs to keep statistics of how many units are running each version to properly assess when it's not worth to continue maintaining a branch.

I am not ready to go forward the new bugs to get corrected the old ones. Let all bugs are corrected in 6.30.x and when all bugs will be corrected in 6.50.xx I will rethink if I need to update or not.

Hello, I've just upgraded my RB951G-2HnD from 6.31 up to 6.32.1 and it went to reboot forever. That's funny, because your bugfix was addressed to fix that issue.
But that fact I got a brick is less funny. Would anybody please help me to unbrick my device?

Hence 'try'.

So configuration options:

- download location parameters
- version to downgrade to
- static IPs

plus standard fallback if those fail

That release is useless for my RB911, as you can not upgrade/downgrade the device at all from the v6.32. The device will crash as soon as you try to reboot it. As upgrade does require rebooting then you'll never get off that version.

Is there a way to upgrade the software without requiring a reboot? Some command to make it just start the upgrade process?

I think the only remaining option for you is doing a Netinstall to cure any remnant of broken codes of RB911 at start up.

I suspect that it will fix the issue and allow subsequent rebooting.

netinstall? Normis pointed to the instructions post (I guess) a few days ago. But if you don't have physical access to the device, forget it. I don't know commands to reboot a routerboard besides from... "system reboot" and "system package downgrade" :(

Before any update it is smart to make copy of partition to the failover partition if the device supports multiple partitions. It should boot automatically when the first updated partition doesn't boot or other problems with ros config occurs. Than you can easily revert back. But you need to be prepaired before otherwise the netinstall is the only option.

Netinstall will fix it http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall

1. Power off
2. plug cable from Ether1 directly to your PC
3. Run Netinstall app
4. Hold RESET button on the RB and turn it on
5. Keep holding the button, until the PC Netinstall app shows the router as found
6. Specify version 6.32.1 packages and click "INSTALL"

you disable ip/neighbors in all devices connected to ether2-master-local
I see no sense doing this - besides, disabling this interface in ip/neighbor/discovery does not help the issue.

I have the same issue on RB1100AHx2 - second one, connected to the same network with VRRP interfaces on backup, disabled IPsec/EoIP tunnels and the same config shows no "probably a loop" messages

Yes, it is relatively simple to use, but most home users just won't know. I think you should ship your devices already partitioned (maybe you already do).

How can I change my device to stay on the stable branch?
I use System > Packages > Check for Updates and it shows 6.32.1

Do I have to install stable branches by hand? I think concept of stable and beta/testing branch is fine. But I think it is the wrong way to provide the unstable releases by the common update function and provide stable updates only by the much more effort way.

Branch support was added only in 6.31
So you will only be able to do this starting from the next bugfix release, whenever this is released. For now, you can only update it manually.

This does not occur when we are using RoS 6.7

Last time I tried it with no success and it was quite recent attempt. Mikrotik should make a native netinstall for Linux or make contributions to Wine to make it working. Will they do it? Nope.

Hi Normis,

Can we please get 64 bit versions of winbox and net install. In case your not aware Redhat 7 and Centos 7 now have no 32 bit libraries these are pure 64 bit OS.

Means wine is only 64 bit there's no 32 bit so winbox and net install can't run...

Surely a 64 bit compiled version be easy? I'm forced to keep a Centos 6 notebook since it's the last to have 32 bit libraries.

You can read about it on wine HQ there is no way to run 32 bit windoze programs in wine64...

Same here on RB2011UiAS-2HnD. Shows ether4 (which is switch 1 master port) probably has a loop, but router/switch is still stable.

Issue started after upgrading from 6.31 to 6.32, and still exists in 6.32.1.

I had the same Issue with a CloudSwitch CRS125-24C-1S-RM in 6.31 with two WAN uplinks (WiMax & DSL)

After I had configured the second interfaces (I think the critical step was to a DHCP client on ether5 (my DSL uplink) it stopped.
It was in the whole network. Maybe a packet is misinterpreted since 6.31 causing this error-message.

Hope this will help to bring some light into this mystery..

You can have a problem with netinstall in the Wine environment. In this case You can use one of official microsoft Virtual Machines for linux. Oracle VirtualBox is included in the linux repositories and free for use.

Surely a 64 bit compiled version be easy?
Moving from 32-bit to 64-bit in a not-really-high-level language like C++ is not necessarily easy.

Has anything to do with PIM been fixed? After upgrading all of my devices from 6.2 to 6.2.1 I notice that for the first time, BLF buttons are working on my local IP phones, for phones that are at a site connected by a SSTP tunnel with PIM setup. Also group paging works to that site now, which uses multicast too.

I am happy that nothing else has broken, and now my IP phones work correctly.

Yes but all Tile routers are full 64 bit OS :)...........

my RB450G has below warning, is it normal or bug?
ether2-master-local excessive broadcasts/multicasts, probably a loop
I had the same Issue with a CloudSwitch CRS125-24C-1S-RM in 6.31 with two WAN uplinks (WiMax & DSL)h
The same here on CRS212-1G-10S-1S+ - just one interface (all ports switched - the same master port). Another problem - SFP modules (OEM) temperatures are not available.

The 6.31 was without this issues. What's wrong?

After upgrading to version 6.32.1, stopped working some OID. Example of snmpwalk:

Hello, I notice that the RB1200 is no longer listed under any of the instruction sets on the download page (unless I'm missing something). Is it still supported? What is the latest stable version that can be installed on the RB1200?

The list is updated manually and sometimes is not up to date. The software is not made per-board. If the device has a PPC processor, it is automatically supported. We don't remove support "per device"

The PPoE upload speed limitation bug resolved in 6.30.4 and in 6.31 RCs is present on my RB1100AHx2 in 6.32.1 (2Mbps vs. 200Mbps)... Should this not had to be fixed long time ago?

See screendump:
Fixed IP on bridge is shown in address list, dhcp-client acquired IP is not shown.
If renew the dhcp-cl the same IP is handed out by server again and shown as renewed by the client.
Still it is not in the address listing.
Winbox or telnet give same result....

This must be bug. It is not harming the unit from normal function but it can't be right....
