Upgrade flawlessly on my CRS317, with manual update, because only version 2.7 is available yet on the upgrade page.

Good points :
- fans are managed correctly !! 8)
- sfp page gives more informations on FS sfp ethernet 1G.

Good job guys :D

For me manual upgrade don't work. I only see "don't interrupt", switch reboted (I see it uptime on router in neigbord)

None of my switches see it as an available upgrade. Have not the time at the moment to try a manual upgrade yet.

Are you sure? I did take the time to do a manual update on my CSS106-5G-1S. Prior to the upgrade, I started a continuous ping to the switch from this PC. After starting the upgrade, i missed exactly one ping and the only indication was the top section of the page now says:
Current Installed Version 2.8 (built at Fri Jul 13 2018 04:37:01 GMT-0700 (Pacific Daylight Time))
Latest Available Version 2.7 (built at Fri Dec 15 2017 00:42:48 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time))

CSS326-24G-2S+ v 2.7 doesn't see the upgrade on the upgrade page.
After upgrading manually from 2.7 to 2.8 the switch boots into 2.0p - from that version I can upgrade manually to 2.8 ...

I had a mixed result. One switch mirrored your experience, and the other went from 2.7 to 2.8 without the intermediate 2.0p version. I had to upgrade both manually.

I think RSTP is still broken, though.

CRS+CSS: How many ports can be aggregated concurrently with LACP at maximum?

Does anyone else run SwOS v2.8 on a CSS326-24G, monitoring with Observium?

I see a line in the changelog that says "provide SFP port healt information via SNMP" - should I expect DOM (tx/rx power) to be made available via SNMP as a result of this?

CRS+CSS: How many ports can be aggregated concurrently with LACP at maximum?
Suggestion. If you are going to ask a question that is totally unrelated to the current topic, start a new post rather than ask in an unrelated thread. For one thing it makes finding the question and answer far easier when the subject relates to the question.

Hi we have some problems with CRS328-24P after 2.8 update
First of all, while downloading files - we have swos-css328p-2.8.bin - why CSS328??

It updates normally, but some devices - has that bug, see below link to SWOs topic

Same with mine.

Also, switch was configured for "static" for the management IP but after upgrade came back as "DHCP with fallback" - which resulted in an address change. Took me a while to find the switch. Easily set back to static but if I had more than 1 of these these I'd be irritated by this.

UPD

The bug with wrong values of temp & rpm
still here.

Well, few hours later, after forced update or reboot, on some switches we have the same issue:

- 62C CPU temp
- 0С board temp
- 0 RPM
- 0 RPM
- Empty value parameters, in some SFP+ tab excels

Of coarse, forced reboot, can solve the issue, but it repeats again.

What’s wrong with this 2.8 update?

Hello,

German IPTV (Entertain TV, MR401/201) still not working at all with this SwOS version (CSS326). No IGMP v3.
Picture freezes after a few seconds.

Latest usable version is 2.4 (with packet flood on all ports due to missing IGMP)

Please implement IGMP v3 in next update.
Thanks.

Robert

Hello,
We are investigating your reported issues about missing information in CRS328-24P-4S+ SFP and PoE menus.
Meanwhile, you can load primary SwOS v2.7p from Serial Console in the same way as on CRS326-24G-2S+

Please, Mikrotik team. Verify that the latest versions of SwOS are causing problems in IPTV services. Forcing even us users and network administrators to downgrade to versions like 2.4 and 2.0b of SwOs.

Ps. I am use RB260GS

This is very important to us. I would like you to have an answer and to deal with it urgently. Since it has already been mentioned in other posts, as follows list of links below.

Most likely the switch changed from a static IP to DHCP. Check your DHCP server to find out IP what it was assigned. Then connect to that address and change it back to static on the desired address. Other option would be to set a DHCP reservation in the DHCP server so the switch always gets the same address.

CRS317-1G-16S+ on 2.8 seems to lose LAGs after a while.
I've tried a reboot but it comes back.

I did not know about the fan issue however mine should be cooled enough anyway, but I'd prefer the fix.
I've reverted to 2.7 until this showstopping bug is fixed.

Hi all. I have been using these switches in switch mode since they have been released. One continuous issue is that when you probe the device via SNMP for a few days it suddenly starts acting up. Seems like its just the management interface as traffic flows smoothly via the device but ICMP responds at 2000+ms and you struggle to access the gui. Is there anyway I can get a support output on the device whilst this is happening? The only fix is a physical reboot. Current F/W is 2.8

I have been using these switches
What switches? Please specify exact model(s).
Some small switches (like the RB260 series) are known to have a rather weak CPU which can easily be maxed out when being constantly monitored via ICMP.

There seems to be some issue with CSS106 and 64-bit counter - either both SNMP and JavaScript are not updated to support it or internally this switch still uses 32-bit counters despite SNMP and JavaScript expecting 64-bit. Either way, this causes bogus values to be printed, despite switch actually properly counting packets (as seen by direct request to !stats.b). More details here: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=139046

In addition, it looks like CSS106 tries to fetch update from https://upgrade.mikrotik.com/swos2/css1 ... 06-2.8.bin however correct URI is https://upgrade.mikrotik.com/swos2/css1 ... 1s-2.8.bin. To top this up, LATEST returns "2.8.1531481837" and CHANGELOG simply returns "2.8.1531481821". Switch reports it's ready to update from "2.8 (built at Fri Jul 13 2018 13:37:01 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time))" to "2.8 (built at Fri Jul 13 2018 13:37:17 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time))".

I have only CSS106, but the documentation for it has the following:

"strict - Same as enable, but also checks VLAN support for inbound interface (drop packets with VLAN tag ID and ingress port that are not present in VLAN table)"

From https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/SwOS/CSS106
VLAN mode.PNG
I always thought this is what "enabled" does. Does this mean that "enabled" always lets tagged packets in on a port if that VLAN is merely configured on the switch, even if there is no tick in the checkbox for this particular port in the "VLANS" tab? In other words the selections in the "VLANS" tab only apply to outbound packets? This is quite unexpected and a security issue IMHO.

Hi Andriys, Im using the CRS317model, I have 4 in production at peak they switch around 7Gbps without any issues but accessing the gui is just a pain. If we reboot the device its flawless for a few days.

Why does my switch revert back to software 2.0 with a reset?
It should switch back TO THE DEFAULT settings for the latest firmware installed.
Or at least have a two image setup. (last good working vers and latest version added).
