What's new in 6.47.1 (2020-Jul-08 12:34):

Good that the false reporting of sector writes is finally fixed. This did reduce the resell value of the Mikrotik device you own greatly.

Do You think it was "false reporting" ? Maybe it was "true reporting", but now (and before) something is hidden...

Tested this and I have no issues with this so this might be related to your setup.

After upgrading SXT 5nD r2 from version 6.47 to version 6.47.1, the access point was updated, rebooted, and hung. I tried to restore, downloaded this firmware via netinstall - nothing came of it. With it, this access point does not load !!!

To fix that, download the "extra packages" file here on a computer: https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/ ... 6.47.1.zip
Unzip the file somewhere, and upload ONLY the package files that you are using (advanced-tools, dhcp, ppp, routing, security, system, wireless) to the device.
Probably you can omit the routing package as well, unlikely you are doing BGP or OSPF on such a tiny device.

Then reboot using the System->Reboot menu entry (do not powercycle the device).

Already reported for 6.48beta, but applies here, too:
*) dns - do not use DoH for local queries when a server is specified;
This is about forwarding? Looks like queries are still sent via DoH for me.
Anybody made this work?

Its IP -> IPsec -> Policies not System and it works fine with Winbox 3.24 (latest)

Mikrotik states increased "sector writes" reporting. So the counter was just hyperactive and was even triggered when noting was written to the flash.

.
still no option-set linking to a vendor-class-id possible in dhcpd ... ? it's possible in v7beta8 !? ... is this by intent ?... or a bug ?
.
.
[admin@v6.47.1] /ip dhcp-server vendor-class-id> add
Creates new item with specified property values.

address-pool -- pool used for this vendor-class-id
copy-from -- Item number
disabled -- Defines whether item is ignored or used
name --
server -- global or single server
vid -- contents of vendor-class-id as string or hex with 0x prefix

Nobody cares about the "reduced resell value" because of the sector writes count. Who advertises de sector writes count when selling their hardware? Is that a thing? realy?
Selling a cheap MikroTik, cheaper? how much "resell value" loss are we talking about? If you decided to ditch that device you must have some other reasons.
You're not reselling gold.
It has any meaning from an administrative point of view when you monitor that value and you notice it increasing without any explanation and you start to dig for the cause, nothing else.
OH, and if you have some device for sale, why do you still keep updating and using it with the latest and greatest release? Leave it somewhere offline without installing some release as soon it gets out.
Any comment about this should be considered offtopic and deleted. Including my current comment.
Cheers.

I think this might be about :resolve command with server parameter specified.
E.g.:
:put [:resolve google.com server=8.8.8.8]
:put [:resolve example.com server=10.10.10.10]

I have two hEX-s bought in short sequence and one has 300K on the clock and the other one 1600K. The last one, ran ROS 6.47 with the crazy counter. Gold has a market price so you can't compare that with a router. I don't think a router will increase it price during years of usage.

Resell value is something different than collectors value and I don't keep my routers in the original unopened box.

have you seen the issues?
you got 6.8MiB free memory, and the new version itself has 11.4MiB
What have you got in file? it seems like you have to remove something from there.
Make sure you got enough free memory.

6.47.1 seems to work fine on 3011 and 2011....
(other RBs are still on "long-term")

Still missing the "antenna gain" setting though (removed in 6.47), since I'm running the 2011 with non-standard (not build-in) antenna's, and now the gain cannot be set correctly against regulatory-domain.

Also, I know that in 6.44.3 the sfp-led is removed from the configs, but this was very useful. So why???
It was, space-wise, also totally unnecessary to remove, since 2011 has more that enough storage to run 8 (!) Mipsbe-partitions if one would choose to....
Searched through the forums and the net, and all I could find was people asking why it was removed, but never an answer by MT.

So please Mikrotik, be a sport, and re-instate the sfp-led (as user-led setting) and the antenna-gain field.

must be very annoying to our fellow Mikrotikls, that every new release anouncement is turning into a whining-zone : )
.
so many fashionable new features ... no party : \
... but that's your life jacky brown : |
.
so hopefully my vendor id dhcpd inconvience is handled first : )

You may be right davis! I tested it just now with 6.47 (not working) vs 6.47.1 (working). So it was just misunderstanding of the changelog.

I've upgraded an LtAP mini (RB912R-2nD), and it would not boot after updating.
I did a netinstall with 6.47.1 and it started. I kept the config, seems to work fine now.
Not sure if a problem with my device or a bug.
hAP ac, hAP ac 2, and crs112 updated with no problem.

That turned out to be premature assumption - problem is back. It occures only when trying to open property window of Dude server device itself in Devices menu - Device properties window stays open for a second and then disconnection occures - every time. System log shows only "logged in" and logged out" messages...

Stable - do these products contain francium?
Not updated - 2xHex Stable
Not updated- 2xCapac Stable
Not updated-1ccr1009 Stable

As for hex resale value, still waiting for HW offload on the hex chipset. ;-)

Re: v6.47.1 [stable] is released!

That turned out to be premature assumption - problem is back. It occures only when trying to open property window of Dude server device itself in Devices menu - Device properties window stays open for a second and then disconnection occures - every time. System log shows only "logged in" and logged out" messages...
I had the same problem. Was able to trace it to the fact that I renamed the device that had some disabled services: graph data sources for these services retained the old device name and that was causing client to crash on mouse over.
After I removed these disabled services the crashes stopped.

Hi
i dont believe that i will be able to upgrade my hex3.
Only 4.9MiB free but nothing on the flash.

Anybody an idea ? Im about 50km away from this box.
I would downgrade to an older, much smaller version then upgrade to latest, but in your case that may give problem if you loose some function so that you can not reach it any more.

I think this is broken in 6.47 (and also here still in 6.47.1). It works fine on 6.46.6.

https://www.reddit.com/user/gromo3eka/c ... indscribe/

I did send some support files for 6.47 regarding this issue but I think it's still not fixed here. Can anyone else confirm? Or maybe even better still suggest a fix? It's stopping me from upgrading as I need to use this feature..

It's instructions for setting up an IKEv2 client to a VPN service. It generates a dynamic NAT rule to route traffic for addresses in an address list.

In 6.47+, it basically kills all routing for some reason.

Link to post in the 6.47 release thread about the same problem: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=161887#p800523

Hi
thanks for the hint. Not sure if you have seen my former post. It worked even with the limited amount of storage.

Im wondering why mikrotik doesnt make custom images per HW. What i mean. There is no need for the wireless package on a hex3.

Updated cAP ac (RBcAPGi-5acD2nD). Upgrade seemed to work fine. Then performed a reset using the reset switch and now it won't boot. I'm about to try netinstall to see if it's bricked or not.

Update: Can't get netinstall to work. Not sure if the device is bricked or if it's because I'm connecting through a mikrotik switch for PoE. Any advice?

Update2: Finally got netinstall working under Windows XP. Windows 7 & 10 didn't work for me. Reflashed and reset the device and its working again.

I'm I've seen issues with Bridge Hardware offloadfing causing packet loss on 6.47.1 (that didn't exist in 6.47).

I'm still investigating the issue currenltly, but so far I have seen....
-Packets between non-hardware accellerated interface and hardware accellerated interfaces are OK.
-Packets between two hardware-accellerated interfaces have severe packet loss.
-Simply turning OFF hardware acceleration on the bridge port fixes the issue, and turning setting back ON brings the issue back

So far I've updated about 100 devices, I've had complaints / noticed this issue on 2 devices.
1 x HAP AC Lite 952Ui-5ac2nD and 1 x 2011iL.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Cheers,
Jono.

@jsadler: Do you have some switch chip configuration on those particular devices with faults? It might be relevant because quite a while ago, I had an experience with RBD52G (using Atheros 8327 switch chip) that some features from switch-chip menu were causing serious packet loss to a degree I had to power-cycle the device because I couldn't even access it. the RB2011 is using two switch chips (Ath8327 for 1Gbit ports and Ath8227 for 100Mbit ports). The RB952Ui also uses Ath8227.
So... there might be a pattern, or it may be completely unrelated thing :D I got all 3 models sitting around in production so I will see if there is some way to reproduce it.

or... maybe this?
*) switch - fixed MAC address learning on switch-cpu port for Atheros8316, Atheros8227 and Atheros7240 switch chips;
Can you identify, whether the RB2011 suffers this issue on both switches or just 100Mbit/1Gbit?

There is really no reason for that because you can make your own selection very easy ...
You download "Extra packages" that would be all_packages-<platform>-<ver>.zip with all available packages, then copy only what you need from the zip to routerboard (say system, dhcp, security, advanced-tools) and reboot and system with leave and update only these packages and from that point will update only that ...

Well since some recent RouterOS version, the download area for the npk is hidden. Maybe there are some files that will be deleted before the upgrade. (/system package update cancel ???)
If you do it manually the npk goes in RAM (above flash)

Agreed... Very disappointing fact... Many interesting devices, but 16mb... And causes many troubles with upgrading.

Because the Qualcomm system-on-a-chip designs used for many MT products which hardware limit of max 16 MB SPI flash.
This is also the reason some products have the bizarre combination of fast wireless and 100Mbit ethernet ports - QCA decided to embed a 100Mb switch into the SoC.

I still have the same problem with CRL not being updated with DOH. (I am using Cloudflare)

DoH server connection error: SSL: handshake failed: unable to get certificate CRL.

I do have the DigiCert Global Root CA as trusted.
I even went to the extend to download the root CA of the websites where the CRL were downloaded from but with no luck either.

The DNS queries however seems to work properly with the DOH for all the clients. Just the router CRL update is not working anymore.

I have upgraded multiple devices from 6.46.6 to 6.47.1 (I skipped 6.47 as it was too buggy with the write disk issues that several users reported). I have upgraded:

- 4 x hAP AC2
- 2 x CRS326
- 1 x CRS312
- 2 x RB2011
- 1 x RB4011
- 3 x hEX S
- 1 x RB951Ui
- 1 x hAP Lite TC

Some of them has IPv6, others VPNs (L2TP/IPSec, IKEv2 and OVPN) and I have identified no issues so far.

Because the Qualcomm system-on-a-chip designs used for many MT products which hardware limit of max 16 MB SPI flash.
It's possible to use small boot SPI flash and then store main filesystem on bigger SPI flash accessed using linux SPI driver.

But Mikrotik keeps doing the same stupid 16MB thing even on devices with chips with no such limitations. For example, RBM11/33 and hEXv3 and hEX S all use MT7621A CPU. It's very common SOC, you can find list of all devices with it here: https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/MediaTek_MT7621
Now look around and you will see many APs with 128MB of flash, that use exactly the same CPU as Mikrotik. So for hEX, it's down to saving pennies for no good reason. 128MB flash in volume is not even $1... is it REALLY worth it!????

Yes it is. Lets call it planned obsolescence and whats the first rule of planned obsolescence? We don't talk about it!

Ok, lets go from conspiracy theories back to the reality: It is well known that this is not a technical limitation. e.g. Mikrotik Audience with IPQ-4019 has 128MB NAND storage. on the other hand, the new Mikrotik hAP ac3 (or the "ultimate home router" chateau", both costs 50% more than Audience) has also IPQ-4019 but only 16MB Flash storage. That's the reality, deal with it. Its not about the technical limitation, it is not about the price. They just want to mess with us. No need to go into details within this software release topic

Actually there is much simpler explanation ... those RBs don't need more ...
Firstly flash is not used to store firmware upgrade files, RAM is, as can be seen if you check free space before and after copying npk:
system resource print
              free-memory: 104.4MiB
             total-memory: 128.0MiB
           free-hdd-space: 3268.0KiB
          total-hdd-space: 16.0MiB
  write-sect-since-reboot: 487
system resource print
              free-memory: 91.4MiB
             total-memory: 128.0MiB
           free-hdd-space: 3268.0KiB
          total-hdd-space: 16.0MiB
  write-sect-since-reboot: 487
After reboot system is only then writing to flash deleting old system files and replacing them with new versions (or old in downgrade) ...
And since standard RouterOS package is currently around 12MB there is roughly 3MB free flash space which means there is enough reserve for future versions as it is ...

Note that in v7 they are moving away from the possibility to install only the packages you require, there is one big package for all functions in RouterOS and then additional packages are only used for niche functionality like monitoring a UPS or running the user-manager.
This reduces the expansion potential as all additional functions in the main RouterOS will consume space no matter if you are interested in those additions, and the remaining space for additional packages will shrink more and more.
(e.g. on my non-wireless routers I do not install hotspot and wireless, I always omit "mpls" because I don't use it, I omit "routing" on routers not running BGP/OSPF, etc. that will no longer be possible on v7)
I can understand that having separate packages for things like "ppp", "security" and "dhcp" is becoming a dependency nightmare, so it is reasonable to move those in the main package. Same for IPv6. But "mpls", "routing", "wireless" etc certainly could have been left as separate packages.

Many other devices only have the bootloader in a 2-4MB SPI Flash, then loads the system from SD or eMMC.

When using DoH in 6.47.1 and 6.47, the dns caching is broken as the cache used will keep accumulate until it reach the max cache size set. Flush cache is not working either.

I'm having an issue on v6.47.1 at two seperate locations (identical behavior at both) with the same setup/hardware.

This issue was not present in v6.47 (also confirmed after downgrading one of the locations that the issue did disappear when going back to v6.47) and I believe it to be specifically related to this line in the change log of this release:
*) switch - fixed MAC address learning on switch-cpu port for Atheros8316, Atheros8227 and Atheros7240 switch chips;

I have a bridge set up for an ip-camera network on both devices with a VLAN interface assigned to an ethernet port on each side to connect them. (see config code below)
  • A PoE Switch is attached to Ether6 on the 2011UAS-2HnD.
  • The NVR is attached to Ether 7 on the 2011UAS-2HnD.
  • A Vlan(300) interface is attached to ether10 which is connected to a wAP 2nD r2.(the wAP has more than one network on it, which is why i'm using a VLAN interface here)
  • A (raspberry pi) display that views the RTSP feed of several cameras is connected to a wlan interface that is bridged to VLAN300 on the wAP.

Since the device upgraded to v6.47.1 there is some kind of arp/switching issue happening where if any device connected to the wAP is accessing a host on this network, no devices connected to the LAN side on the 2011UAS-2HnD are able to communicate with those hosts anymore. After I turn off the wireless interface and allow a few minutes to pass, the devices become accessible on the LAN again.

When this happens I can see that the MAC Entries on Switch/Host in Winbox change from "ether6" to "Switch 2 CPU".

Is my assumption correct that you are using multiple bridges? One dedicated to the cameras?
If so, you can get rid of that. A single bridge is sufficient, all you have to do is filter VLAN id's.

Have a look at this topic (I learned a lot of this topic: viewtopic.php?t=143620)

Is the issue with SFP interfaces fixed in this release? Changelog suggests so but can anyone confirm?
Hi All,
My router issue described in this post viewtopic.php?f=21&t=161887&p=799044&hilit=sfp#p799044 isn't resolved with upgrade to 6.47.1, still had to rollback to 6.46.6 to get SFP ONU work again.

I have made fresh rif and log it via ticket SUP-22021

BTW: Mikrotik has setup Jira service desk so if anyone with such an issue is concerned you can drop Me you email and I will add you as a requester to this issue.

I guess I stay on 6.46 on my device for now, I need the SFP interface to work.

Partioning? We don't need no stinkin' partitioning :D

Frankly I find partitioning too much hassle to use on local devices, backups are just fine ...
And RBs dont need partitioning, you do so choose your gear wisely :)

Partitioning is the best option to test something (e.g. ROS v7). Rollback involves a mere change of active partition and a reboot.

Partitioning has saved me when there was a problem with an update forgetting to remove the old files, causing the flash to fill up and making it impossible to upgrade, then MikroTik released a quick-and-dirty small package that would have to be installed on the system and would clean it up.
But unfortunately the package had a bug and it made the system unbootable.
With partitioning, the bootloader detects that the system fails to boot, then automatically toggles the active partition and reboots, and it rebooted the copy that I made before downloading the package and that still worked. So I could wait for the re-release of the fix package.
Without that, it would have been going through a difficult procedure to gain access to the site, and a 2x40km drive. While the network was down.

I have a problem with a hAP ac^2 on 6.47. It won't update to 6.47.1 from either the check update option (which sees 6.47.1) nor by manually adding the firmware file from the website into files and trying to reboot.

In both cases, the router comes back up as normal but for some reason wipes all DHCP lease allocations? It remains on version 6.47.

Updated 4 devices to 6.47.1, local DNS records still doesn't resolving if DoH server is used. We was waiting DoH for so long but why you ruined other part of DNS...

I have same issue with manual upgrade (upload specific packages). But it was succeeded on 2nd attempt.

Very cosmetic issue, but - for quite few releases, the scaling of UI is not correct. Each time I log-in to a router, I have to go to menu and press Zoom-in, to have a correct size.

That problem is not related to the RouterOS version, but to the Winbox version. Please try upgrading Winbox and discuss in Winbox version topic.

Still missing the "antenna gain" setting though (removed in 6.47), since I'm running the 2011 with non-standard (not build-in) antenna's, and now the gain cannot be set correctly against regulatory-domain.
Good! Patches.
Put stable 6.47.1 on my hap-ac and hap-ac2 last weekend.

But now the roaming is terrible... Ehm, where did the antenna-gain field go, or what are the workarounds?
Am I now stuck with maximum gain? That's would be kind of sad actually.

hi,

Why do they call this STABLE, it should be BETA at best.

6.47.1 on a Hap AC-lite and a 951-2hnd have both created a bridge problem where the router cannot be pinged or accessed from the same subnet via IP even when used as a basic bridged access point.

It produces two "neighbour" entries on other routers with differing mac addresses.

The only way to clear it is to log in via MAC telnet and disable fast forward on the bridge and disable hardware offload on the port you are trying to access it from.

The two ghost neighbour issue shows up on many routers running this release too, one shows the device name the other does not.

Seems the new Bridge implementation is rather broken, it has also nuked using Vlans for Active backup too, no amount of use of vlan filtering fixes it either.

ho hum..

@ amojak

I fell your pain. I got lucky and had someone who'd been working with them for years explain it to me when I started a few years back. Treat beat like alpha, stable like beta, and long-term as stable. However, even this is not always the case as for example at the moment 6.45.9 long term has know issues with OSPF. I'm currently on 6.44.6 long term and I think many people operating production networks are still on the one before that. Also found that upgrading a piece of lab equipment to ensure you don't get a failure is imperative if your working with remote devices.

It seems you're experiencing the same issue, described above, that I'm experiencing on the rb2011uias-2hnd.
I believe the RB951G-2HnD uses the same switch chip as the RB2011 -- unclear about what is included on the HAP AC LIte.

The only way I found I could fix it was to use superchannel and set everything by hand.
(there may be other ways I don't know about yet. If so, please advise)

I could see the purpose of this removal on simple devices like hap-lite (with printed PCB-antenna), but on any RB with antenna's that can be swapped this removal is ill-advised imho.

I agree totally.... Use only long-term for "stable" in production, and classify every other (stable, beta and dev) one notch lower..... In the current "stable" branch there is still too much fixing going on. But in typing that, I realize that there is now no longer a real "long-term" available. :(

What I mean is a version that is only security-patched and bug-fixed, without changing the features and config method, and that targeted to environments that runs for several years (not just about one year). Something like Microsofts LTSB/LTSC versions..... They have 10(!) years of support lifespan.
Ok, from what exists today, changing from about 1y to 10y maybe a bit much all at once, but 3-5y is more than reasonable.

But I also know that in this forum there are (senior) people that object to that idea, as they feel that this would suck too much MT resources away from new developments, and that is what they love from MT (in fact, the degree of innovation is indeed something that is very great at MT. I love that too). But since they are so 'senior', they also intentionally or unintentionally tend to smother any real discussion about the issue.

With MT now also producing devices in the same price-range and targeted to the same business customers as the high-end "cisco's" (and the like), they will also need a more real-long-term support branch for those devices when they are deployed in such environments. These devices need to stay secure as well.
You can't have devices running 2 to 3 long-term releases back (with unpatched security issues), just because these environments simply do not allow config/behavior changes and there is no version update available anymore after about a year.. That is just bad practice. But that is the consequence of not having a real LTSB at MT.

For enthusiast-setups or more mainstream environments current MT branches are great. Nevertheless some devices are clearly targeted to something different. And these devices need the support to match.
It would be great if 6.47.x would be the first version that supports a new longer-term branch.

Had probably some issue on my RB760iGS. Upgraded from 6.46.6 to 6.47.1 and next day I realized problems on WAN (SFP) which - by reading PL graph - started just after upgrading. Massive packet loss. So I downgraded to "Long term stable" and problem went away.

Jan

Cheers,
Jono.

The left hand menu disappears in webfig if you switch to quickset or terminal and back - you have to switch back to webfig, log out and log back again for the menu to appear again. I confirmed this on 3 separate devices running 6.47.1 but don't have the time to downgrade and play with it.

I tried it. When I login to webfig (and do not save the password in the browser), then go to quickset or terminal, when I click on webfig again I am logged out.
The login screen appears without its usual markup, the same that happens when you e.g. powercycle the device while working in webfig.
When I re-type my login and password the webfig appears correctly.

No, for the hap lite it also is a nice feature. I use hap lites on my desk to tinker with prototype iot hardware, and I do not need to create a wifi network going over the entire floor. Just my desk is fine.
I hope this function can be restored in some way, reducing output is not illegal, right?

The new icons are nice.

Is anyone else having issues with VoIP devices not working after upgrade?

I have a Siemens gigaset A480IP DECT base station. It was working fine until upgrade from 6.46.6 to 6.47.1 when it just stopped working with a SIP registration error.
I factory reset the Siemens just in case and gave it a clean config but it just would not connect... reverted to 6.46.6 and it started working again immediately

A SNOM phone on the same network connected to the same voip provider had no such problems on either firmware.

Not sure even how to submit a bug report so feel free to (gently) point me in the right direction

No issues with Gigaset C610A IP after the upgrade. The phone has successfully registered at 3 different VoIP gateways.

I don't save the password in the browser. Try going into the Interfaces menu, then Terminal and then back. For me that doesn't log me out, instead it takes me back to the Interfaces screen but without the menu on the left.
I tried it on a RB4011 & 2 hap ac2-s with the same results

Edit: I tried again today with my browser cache cleared and it does log me out as well. After logging back, the menu is there. Strange...

It says only regulatory domain is allowed for this country.

With superchannel, you have to set "no country selected" or any of the countries with loose telecom-laws. The latter is becoming a shorter list with each release.

No, for the hap lite it also is a nice feature. I use hap lites on my desk to tinker with prototype iot hardware, and I do not need to create a wifi network going over the entire floor. Just my desk is fine.

Nope, not illegal. It's actually mandatory.
Since, if you connect an antenna with higher gain then the build-in one, and cannot set it correctly in Ros, it will transmit at an illegal level in the designed direction of the antenna.

For the Hap-lite, even this cheap and small device can transmit more than is allowed in this country, when set in a certain way ;)
I'm currently using my haplite as wifi to ethernet bridge powered directly from my laptop's usb port.
Try that with any other 10$ device. I love it!

The new icons are nice.

Yep they look great..... Don't know why I would have needed them to look better, but it looks really very nice like that!

The problem is not fully resolved.
In versions <6.46 there were about 120 sectors per day, now it is about 1000.

Changes in this release:
*) filesystem - fixed increased "sector writes" reporting (introduced in v6.47);
I think the problem still here. This is my, at least year old WAP AC:

It is possible that the filesystem needs to correct itself (sort of like defragmentation works in Windows), but after the process is done, the sector write count should not drastically increase any more.

Hey! I'm not sure if this has been pointed out before or not. but in 6.46 you updated dhcpv6 server to give a "User-Name" attribute for radius accounting. it did indeed fix that but every since that release dhcpv6 "delegated-ipv6-prefix" doesnt work for accounting only. you can still set static prefixes but the accounting table is just blank in that field.

and it was definitely giving a delegated prefix in accounting on 6.45.9. just not a username. now it's vice versa

Hi All,

I've just been upgrading a few devices this morning, all looking good on 6.47.1 apart from one. A RB951-2N seems to have lost the menu bar on the left in webfig.

Just done a clean netinstall of 6.47.1 and the menu is there initially but after I set anything the next time it's gone.

Not a massive problem as I still have the cli and winbox but it's just odd that it is only this device affected.

Anyone else seeing similar? - Just noticed I'm not alone, Zoltan in #94 [ viewtopic.php?f=21&t=163482&p=807781#p807333 ] also has this. Sorry!

My Mikrotik 60 GHz connections got quite unstable since RouterOS 6.47. Especially a 3.7km link between two LHG 60G (yeah, thats way out of spec, I know..) got unusable with 6.47. The link disconnects very often, at least every 15-30 minutes.

It looks like the Beamforming doesn't work as expected anymore. The tx sector is jumping around way more than before. I've attached a screenshot of statistics of this 3.7km link. The upgrade to 6.47 and downgrade back to 6.46.6 is clearly visible..

Did you report this to support? It seems like I have the same problem but dont have the nice graphs like you do. Can you share the method you are using to graph those? I am currently using MRTG and SNMP but had problems with multiple registrations not working properly.

I have rb952ui-5ac2nd configured as CAP.
After 6.47.1 update router is not accessible.
Unable to bring up any Ethernet interface - neither WAN nor LAN.
Reset is not working too.
Device just hang and is completely unresponsive to anything.
Try to perform Netinstall once

https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall
Thanks, managed to bring back LTS version 6.45.9 with Netinstall

Updated to 6.47.1 and noticed a strange thing, the associated IP address (make static 192.168.3.254) was suddenly transferred to a new IP 192.168.3.249, with a strange Client ID 1:52:41:53:20:0:25:22:d8:XX:XX:0:0:0:0:0:0 is this normal?

Dear, last week I updated my ccr1072 to version 6.47.1. In these last two days the team stopped responding having to remove the power to restart it. Did the same thing happen to someone?
This team manages 6 BGP sessions and has a maximum traffic of 7Gb.
Thank you.
I also tested the same with CCR1072 recently and never faced any problem.
Thanks for your answer. I can add that this situation occurred with fasttrack enabled.
When disabled, the equipment behaved normally.
Regards

Made big mistake by installing latest stable version on 60GHz link before installing it. It was completely impossible to point it correctly at 1100m link. Reported used sector kept jumping randomly around, MCS going up and down for no apparent reason as well, even without touching the LHG at all. Finally gave up, loaded 6.46.6 and everything worked like it should. Really annoying having to deal with this, at the roof that's melting hot.
This is not a stable version, this is garbage. Use it on 60GHz hardware at your own peril.

It is possible that the filesystem needs to correct itself (sort of like defragmentation works in Windows), but after the process is done, the sector write count should not drastically increase any more.
Still something wrong with this numbers:

Is anyone else having issues with VoIP devices not working after upgrade?

I have a Siemens gigaset A480IP DECT base station. It was working fine until upgrade from 6.46.6 to 6.47.1 when it just stopped working with a SIP registration error.
I factory reset the Siemens just in case and gave it a clean config but it just would not connect... reverted to 6.46.6 and it started working again immediately

A SNOM phone on the same network connected to the same voip provider had no such problems on either firmware.

Not sure even how to submit a bug report so feel free to (gently) point me in the right direction
I've had the sames issues with two older Siemens Gigaset S685IP base stations, starting with 6.47.0, while other VoiP Clients and Softphones are working fine with the same SIP providers. Rreverting back to 6.46.6 and the siemens gigasets are working fine again.

Recently I've upgraded to 6.47.1 and run in the same issue again, but this time I had more time for debugging.
It seems for me these devices don't even try to register with the SIP provider and have trouble to "understand" the DNS responses from my mikrotik router, as I could only capture DNS query and responses with wireshark, but no real atemts to register with any SIP server.

Sadly these gigaset voip base stations have very poor debuggung/logging options for deeping troubleshooting.

As workaround I tried to hand out the DNS server IPs of my ISP via DHCP to them and they are able to register successfully again.
A friend of mine is using more recent Gigaset C430 Go base stations, and he had no issues with ros 6.47.0/6.47.1 so far.

Re: v6.47.1 [stable] is released!

It seems there is an issue with multicast routing in the the last 2 releases of ROS (on a CCR-1009).
PIM, after working for ages with my multicast setup (upstream on a vlan, clients on a regular bridge) stopped working in 6.47.
IGMP proxy was still working ok and I switched to it.
But after upgrading to 6.47.1, that's also gone.

Has anyone else seen a similar behavior?

LE: It seems somehow my vlan interface was not initialized properly since its interface route didn't appear in the routing table. After an edit/update of the interface it seems to be fixed.

I'm running PIM on a CCR-1009 only as an IGMP querier for the IGMP snooping in the switches, and it appears to run as before (on 6.47.1)
No multicast routing between the networks configured.

@Guntis, I've created an report (SUP-23619) and attached my DNS captures from that time.
Hopefully that can help to analyze, if its caused by any changes introduced in 6.47.x or it's just an stupid bug in these voip devices.

After upgrading to 6.47.1 and doing a /export, some routers export this:
/user group
set full policy="local,telnet,ssh,ftp,reboot,read,write,policy,test,winbox,pas\
    sword,web,sniff,sensitive,api,romon,dude,tikapp"
Others have "dude" not enabled in that group and it is not exported.
It is a bit unclear to me what is the correct "default config": with dude in that group enabled or disabled.

This has happened to me starting with v6.45.7 (also on a CCR1009).
Disabling/enabling the interface fixes the routing table, but it took me a trip to a remote location and about an hour to figure out why the local VLAN would not work, while everything else worked fine on the network. This had happened after an unexpected power outage.

Today after 20d uptime on my CCR1009 suddently the internet was down. I could login in the CCR1009 and even the WAN port seems online and had a IP from the provider.
I had to reboot the CCR and the problem was solved. This happens first time with this build

We are having issues with the Powerbox Pro in simple bridge mode. Router mode is as expected. Bridged ethernet ports don't pass traffic.
Other MT devices can't see the updated devices in IP Neighbors with discovering ports = all.

For some time already, there has been an issue with the QuickSet option to set devices to bridge mode. The default installed firewall rules make the
device reject all IP traffic. I don't know if this is is already fixed.
When this is the reason you can connect the device in MAC mode (using winbox) and remove the firewall rules. Then it should work.
(of course assuming you use the device on an internal network and don't need protection from the internet. when you do, you need to have some input rules but they need to be different from the default rules that select by incoming interface)

IPSEC IKEv2 stopped working after upgrade from 6.46.3 to 6.47.1

Tue Aug 04, 2020 1:53 pm

on RB4011iGS+:
after upgrading to 6.47.1 all of my ikev2 tunnels (RSA auth with certificates) stopped working. (peer's ID does not match certificate).

Tested on a second device, same issue. I had to revert to 6.46.3.

Anyone else saw that?

While some of these issues are getting sorted out, I hope they are, what is the last really stable release? Is 6.45.9 good, or is something in the 6.46 series a better choice? Nothing's perfect but the 6.47 and 8 series seem really problematic after reading the comments. Thanks.

My personal favorite for stability at this time is 6.45.6 (stable). There have been new features in 6.45.8 LT when the stable was migrated to LT. And new features usually bring new issues, as known in all software development. Don't know about 6.45.9 , should be a reasonable choice.

This 6.45.6 is nothing more than my personal choice at this moment. It will change over time. There are nice new features in the newer releases.

It is the new name for the device. Apparently it does not have a built-in camera to look at the outside of the case what you have, and include the appropriate name.

They even have the same bugs, e.g. PoE out power cycle not working.

I've always seen them as basically the same device.

Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v and remove the old one

Hello,
I have encountered in this version with "waiting for program xx". It's not possible to login to router (ssh, winbox, mac-te..). After restart, everything is ok. Never happend before. HW RB1100Ahx4-dude and RB1100Ahx4 no dude. No configuration changes, no log information before this.
Has anyone encountered with this?
