In CapsMAN under configuration I cannot configure a country anymore. It only says unknown and there are not options in the drop down list and I do not se anything under Radio.
I have cleared the cache and it did not help anything. Note that this might have been true under 3,25 as well. Saw this when I looked under Caps Interfaces and saw that country said unknown.
Edit: I have tested both 32 and 64 bit version and same issue + I also do not see anything under log.
Edit2: Sent all to support@mikrotik.com

Just tried to use 3.27 on a RB2011(current long term). I cannot add data to the firewall -> NAT, each line goes blank when I highlight it..
I need to revert to an older version now.

I know you are largely just being funny anav...
Actually I check this forum fairly regularly, and I do take note of the announcements at the top. Depending on how important an update is to me, and how much time I have will often dictate how quickly I download updates. There was nothing critical for me with WinBox 3.25, so it waited a few days until I had some free time to download 3.25 and install it on the three computers that have WinBox. Since there was a reported issue with 3.26 that was fixed in 3.27, and I had time yesterday, it was easy to download that and test it.

I did not try that version at first (because I did not install 3.26) but now I got a message from OskarsK asking if it fixes the column/rule dragging problem, and indeed it seems that this issue is now resolved! (I cannot reproduce it)
So others can try as well to see if this version works for them.

Thanks Oskars!

Another issue that I see now I use 3.27 for a while (but I think it has been introduced in 3.22 or later):
When the log window is displayed, and the number of lines in the window is not a whole number, new log lines at the bottom are not readable.
They become readable when the window is scrolled down manually (a line fragment that is blank appears below the last line).
Please make the log window scroll to that position automatically.

I was not aware that the Router OS produced a 1/2 line or 1/4 line or 3/4 line? ;-PP

I had that also for a long time. On checking I see that it now shows the whole line and a partly blank line under that. So with me this partly showing and scrolling to see the last line, is solved.

For me, it shows everything when I manually scroll down 1 line, but then when a new logline appears it again is not visible.
The window auto-scrolls when new lines are added, but just a tiny bit too little.

This issue (autoscroll hiding the last line) actually exists since forever. If you run ping and resize the window a little bit, you can make it hide the last line, just the way you see it now in the log window.

It all has to do with the correct window size for autoscroll to work properly.

Annoying, but not unusable (at least I've gotten used to it over the years).

Maybe it has to do with the changed line spacing in the log window causing my existing window size to be no multiple of a line height anymore...
I usually open a Log window in winbox and set it max size, and then I open all other windows on top of that. So I cannot really control the size of the log window.

I see it again on on my other router.

Half hidden bottom line when the counter in the bottom bar is a even number, when the counter is a uneven number window will scroll up making all lines visible again.

The issue with missing fields as by irghost post will be fixed in the next release. To avoid this at the moment, do not use the maximized inner window.

It may worked like this in previous versions, but with 3.27 it opens up nothing.
Tested on Windows 10 x64 and wine64.
It should open a new winbox window where you can select a new session.

Session > new, opens up a new session, and will not save upon exit if it's not done manually.
osc86 is probably confused what a "session" is and expected that a new session means a new connection (so the same as the New WinBox button).
It should open a new winbox window where you can select a new session.
No a session is not a connection! A session is the winbox term for a saved set of UI settings (like open windows, selected columns, column width, etc)

The whole concept of "saved sessions" is not very clear to many new users and it isn't really explained in the manual either.
It would be helpful to have some documentation and some more features around the session mechanism:
- a "save as default" which is then used for new connections that have <own> session, maybe a different one per Group.
(I know that you can just copy a session file but that is a manual operation that has to be done carefully and is easily forgotten when connecting to a new router)
- possibility to store the session file on the router instead of on the local computer
(maybe separate for each user)
- an "autosave in disconnect" checkmark that saves the session when the connection is abruptly terminated (of course not possible when session saved on router)

Hi,
Strange problem in winbox 3.27 with CRS switches with software version 6.44.6 (best stable for now).
If adding vlan in switch window - all records become red, if they are wrong. But they are correct...

Upd: Winbox 3.25 and earlier has no this "red-vlan" problem.

pe1chl, you are right. I downloaded an earlier Version of Winbox and it behaves the same.
I really thought this would open a new Winbox window, like when you start winbox.exe.
Sorry for that.

Not a new bug and don't know if it counts as a bug either or just a minor display deficiency but if you view packets during a packet dump you only see a empty line for every captured packet. You have have to stop the capture for them to fully display all columns of info.

Firewall and Bridge Filter rules lists are still misbehaving. As long as a rule detail window is open, the list itself will not let you drag and drop rules properly. When you're dragging a rule, it jumps to the very bottom of the list every second (on each window refresh). It seems to only happen when a rule is opened somewhere, at least for me.

I'm writing "still" because I've read this problem somewhere else already a while ago and it doesn't seem to be new with v3.27.

This behavior is quite dangerous, as some accept rule might "slip" below a drop rule and you lose connection to the router, so that you can't take it back.

The other day I was using Winbox on a colleague's PC and I noticed that there it didn't exhibit this behavior.
I don't know if it's something on the local PC that causes it, or something about the number of rules on the router.

I can see why MikroTik might ignore this. It's not reproducible 100%.
But the issue IS there for us that are affected. Until it is fixed, as you said, it's dangerous and practically not usable.

I have submitted that to support including a screen capture movie of the problem. They are aware of the problem, hopefully a fix is coming.
For me it appeared to be solved but it again came back. To test if a new version is affected, I try to drag the column width in such a screen.
When the problem is present, that results in erratic column width, which is at least not as dangerous as erratic movement of firewall rules!
IMHO the following is required to reproduce the behavior:
- a table with quite some entries (firewall with > 200 rules, large connection table)
- frequent updates (busy router where counters in the firewall or connection table are updating all the time)
- holding down mouse button long enough so that updates come in that have to be displayed

I think it would be (for other reasons as well) worthwile to have the possibility to pause the updates (e.g. a pause button alongside "Safe mode")
or at least to be able to configure the update interval so instead of around once per seconds it can be set to like 15, 30, 60 seconds or so.
This is also very helpful when configuring a router via a slow link or from a slow machine, or e.g. via vnc or teamviewer.

I think that is roughly correct. It's definitely load-dependent in some way. My simpler setups don't have this at all. The biggest ones do, as soon as many windows are open with a lot of updates going on and also a rule details window. Then it starts jumping. Still not 100% reliably though.

Might make a capture myself in the next days, if I can make time and get some decent software for that.

I used Kazam and I ran into the problem that when trying to demo it with column-width dragging the framerate was too low and most of the jumps were not showing in the captured video...
I don't know if other software exists that can set the framerate of the capture, that would be preferable for this issue.

Bug(?) (3.15 -> current): make any changes to an opened window (just moving it is enough) save session, close that window to which you've made changes. try to open that window again -> winbox session crashes.

LE: I couldn't test with releases older than 3.15 because of the protocol changes or whatever, the "issue" might be older.

Thanks for explaining how that happens! It has happened many times to me that winbox crashed when I closed and re-opened a window, but it never occurred to me that the save of the session (which I irregularly do because of the lack of a "save on disconnect" flag) is the thing that triggers it!

Bridge -> VLANs -> +
Default Value for VLAN IDs is invalid. Happens with latest ROS stable and beta, so this might be a winbox issue.

It is indeed a WinBox bug, checked with 3.24 and it doesn't happen, it started with 3.25.

I can confirm it as well in 3.27 64 bit version. However, you are going to need to put something in that field regardless of what defaults there, so this is not really much of an issue.
Note that this is on the Bridge VLAN page as shows above and not the interface VLAN page (where the default is 1 - which you will almost always need to change as well). I had to hunt for this one for a second or two as I don't use a bridge on any of my MT routers...

Also note that VLAN 0 is still rejected in v7 even though that is a valid value. Maybe not on a bridge but certainly on an ethernet interface.
When VLAN 0 is not going to be implemented there should be some flag that allows you to push an 802.1q tag with the current priority e.g. as an interface- or port setting.

0 is not a valid value to be set as VLAN ID for any interface (neither is 4095), it is only valid in 802.1q tag where only priority flags are set. So indeed there should be some easy way to set 802.1q priorities ...

We have managed to reproduce the issue with the incorrect default VLAN IDs and the WinBox crash after session save. Thanks for your reports this will be fixed in upcoming versions.

Hey oskarsk,
You can go through those,
What's happening in v3.24:
1) fixed WinBox crash when seeing firewall rule with src/dst-address-type designed;
2) fixed checkbox bunch debilitated state legacy;
3) fixed dates and times in interface connect up/down properties (RouterOS v6.47 required);
4) fixed framework remark message show;
5) fixed vertical textual style arrangement in discretionary fields;
6) fixed window size legacy from the past meeting;
7) keep progressed and straightforward mode table settings independently;
8) make WinBox update work with wine 5.0 or more current;
9) appropriately show popup windows on top;

Regards,
Mika Hawkins.

Hi
For I long time I have been waiting for Winbox window size issue resolution. I saw that they said they have fixed something in v3.22 but the annoying problem still present. I don't know how to reproduce it, because it happens from time to time. In short, sometimes when I reconnect to the same session the main Winbox size get smaller and all the windows within get smaller too, according the main window. It's very annoying because I have to rearrange internal windows every time. I wish, it didn't change its size and keep the size it has when I press the connect button.

Does anybody have the same problem?

About windows' resizing

Fri Sep 25, 2020 4:38 pm

I've noticed an annoying behaviour when resizing winbox's window, the inner dialog windows don't follow the main window size.
This happens since 3.25 winbox version to current 3.27 (32 or 64bit under Windows 8.1); from 3.24 and below everything works as expected.

Steps to reproduce:

- open winbox and connect to a mikrotik host, don't full-screen/resize the main winbox's window
- click any menu item to open its dialog window (interfaces, log, new terminal...)
- double click on the blue dialog window's header to extend the dialog to use all the main winbox gray space
- now double click on the winbox main window's header to extend the winbox's window to full screen
-> notice that the inner window hasn't extended to fullfill the main gray winbox space
- double click on the blue window's header again: you'll expect it goes to fullfill the winbox main grey space, instead it shrinks a bit to the start dialog window's dimensions
- double click again on the blue window's header: finally the window use the full available space

Similar behaviour happens when returning to non-full-screen main winbox window: the dialog windows still have the full width and height dimensions, and you need to resize them accordingly to the new main window dimensions.
The same behaviour happens when *resizing* the main winbox windows, instead of full screen.

Yes it does. I just tested both switches and it works.

Hello.
Today I've tried to download a backup file from my router via winbox (3.27 x64, ROS 6.48b40), but after selecting output dir nothing happens.
There is no such problem a week ago. I've tried also to download files via winbox from another PC with the same result. Additionally, I've successfully downloaded this files via webfig.
Should I create a ticket with supout?
UPD: Lol, after creating supout file I can download files via winbox again. WTF?

Pasting more than approximately 65000 characters in the Terminal of Winbox also crashes the Terminal. That is in the to be fixed list as well in case someone was wondering.

*) support Ctrl++ & Ctrl+- on keypad for quick access to Zoom In/Zoom Out;
Please, support higher resolutions than 192dpi. The maximum zoom size is still way too small for some monitors.
For example, Macbook Pro 16 have a resolution of 226dpi, iMac 218dpi, MacBook pro 13/air - 227dpi.

One or two steps would be much better. E.g., 226 and 244 dpi, or maybe even one more of 288 or something like that.

It has been a long time I didn't update winbox from v3.24. Today I updated winbox to latest and find out that the disk item won't show USB drive plugs in my hap ac2. I reinstall the winbox v 3.24 it reappears again. Apparently it is v3.27 bugs. And there is one more thing I really don't get it that in File list. It have some default folder but it always stated that it created from 1970 even the flash drive I have just pluged in and reformat. Also my router auto created disk2 everytime I reboot the router. Is it normal or something happens?

I understand that as of a few winbox versions ago , the entries in the log window were truncated to not take up more than a single line (and there were some users requesting this). however im not clear on how this is a better solution than the prior multi line log window entries (where you could always read the full log message).

perhaps a happy medium would be to add a horizontal scroll bar to the log window (and the ability to extend the column for MSG to length=(length of longest log entry))

IE i was on a 1080p display laptop trying to troubleshoot an issue, however i was unable to read this log entry (ie no way to read all of it, as i cant expand the column beyond the window, and i cant expand the window beyond the max res of winbox/monitor):
(see screenshot below)
MT log winbox Capture.JPG

am i missing something maybe?
thanks

That will still have one long line, but at least you can drag that window until you see it all. So it's a way, but definitely not good way, just slighly better than nothing. It would be best to optionally support both horizontal scrolling and line wrapping.

On scripts, I don't remember where, if you hover with the mouse pointer and it will open a box with a yellow background displaying the whole content of that script. That could be implemented also for the log and will trigger if the line is longer than the box displaying it.

Now you can already copy the content of that line and display it an external program/editor.

IMHO the best solution is support for line wrapping. It's log, you should be able to quickly see what's there. Copying and pasting elsewhere is not good enough. Even scrolling is not great.

Btw, horizontal scrolling in log window already exists, I've seen it just now, I was able to see whole line, three times longer than screen width. But it's not there by default and you need to trick the window to get it. Make the Message column as wide as possible. Then shrink the log window and you'll get scrollbar. In this state you'll be able to widen Message column even more. And it will stay wide even when you expand log window to maximum width.

IMO the message column of the log window should always have "infinite" width so you can immediately see as much of the message as possible in your window size, and scroll to see more if necessary.
It looks so dumb to have this log window come up with the narrow truncated message column and then a lot of empty space to the right...
Same should be true for all other windows that have a comment column. Just make it extend infinitely to the right.

Feature request: please save the settings of the Torch window (entry timeout, collect checkmarks, filters) in the saved session so it comes up with previous settings when re-opened.

In Terminal you can also display the log and long lines are then a bit easier to read:
/log print where time~"nov/18 08:53:06"
Thanks to the "~" you can also provide a partly search string like "53:06" or "nov/18".

I just tried it. No success... still not working.
You can try and install it via Crossover, that seems to work more or less.
Be prepared to spend 60 Dollars though.

Was Winbox designed to dock the child window to the main window (when maximized)? Or has this behavior changes in recent version?

Perhaps this is not a bug but rather a suggestion or feature request.. better contact support.

This bug has appeared since approximately version 3.25
That is possible, I am still running version 3.21 (anything after that does not work for me due to issues when mouse button is held down) and it works OK in 3.21.

We are aware of this issue, thank you for the reports.
Winbox 3.27 there is a modal window issue.
We have a main (modal) window in non-full-screen mode. The window inside it is in maximized mode "Pic1", after which we expand the main (modal) window to fill the entire screen and get "Pic2", when the internal window does not repeat the action of the external one.
Please fix this bug in the latest versions of Winbox.

recently found that on one CCR (latest long-term ROS) with lots of interfaces (meaning thousands) when we try to resize column sizes or re-sort bridge-filters winbox is actig out:
column width either gets reduced to minimum or is scaled at max for this window, trying to rearrange that always ends up in either min or max width.
bridge filters that should be moved will be moved to the bottom or somewhere else but one can not pin point its position.
while the mouse is active those sorting/width-changing deliver a winbox acting out in this window constantly jumping between positions or different widths.

connecting to the same CCR using winbox v3.20 - things are workable again.

Not possible to setup address-prefix-length in modeconf with static ip-address via winbox. However, in console, command
/ip ipsec mode-config set [find name=cfg1] address-prefix-length=19
works fine and client got right route to subnet in main route table.

I'd love to see "duplicate" command for firewall rules, to create similar rule. Especially useful if want to try something by copying old rule and then temporary disable old one. And when create several similar rules.

Oh my God! Thanks. I never tried to look for this button inside the rule window. I thought it must be in context menu, or copy by Ctrl+Move or Alt+Move, or Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V and so on.

Well yes it is a bit strange that it is in the detail window, because when you click COPY it will open a new window with the copy but the original is still there.
You have to be careful to close that without also saving it.
I think instead it should have been "save as new" where you can open something, edit it, and then instead of OK where you overwrite the original "save as new" would insert your modified version as a new rule instead of overwriting it.
But, it is as we have now.

SO SORRY TO ASK HERE!!!
I have access to my ISP ROS v6.29.1, THEY Provide PPPoE Connections...(btw they provide ubiquiti antennas to catch internet and Tenda routers...)
everything i learnt till now from Google isnt the same there, I am seeing there every User-Router is connected via 'PPPoE Server Binding' and different 'Queues' for all users BUT BUT BUT...
Everything is D-Dynamic there means i just cant remove or edit any queue and Interface (excluding WAN-Bridge), and in 'IP-services' there are two ports opened 'www and winbox'...(everytime)
and there is a radius server for ppp only 13.57.xx.xx SO MY question is how do they add a pppoe user and from where they're doing this... i have access to it for a long time and i will never HARM anything but MY Curious mind is trying to solve this mystery and If anyone can help me then im TOO much greatful to you guys... (apart from this THERE'S no api port open)
i also asked them about their websites but they told that they didnt host any website yet.
YAA They didnt have that 'User Manager'
