Cannot update hAP lite.
[admin@MikroTik] /system package update> install
            channel: long-term
  installed-version: 6.47.9
     latest-version: 6.47.10
status: ERROR: not enough disk space, 7.0MiB is required and only 6.8MiB is free
Restored device to factory defaults, same issue.
If you can't properly make updates work on hardware with 16MB flash, you shouldn't be selling this hardware.

It is more likely the often discussed problem with upgrade of these toy devices, you either need to netinstall or install separate packages (only those that you require).
Explained many times in release threads.

Required packages also don't fit (dhcp + ppp + security + system + wireless = 6.7 Mb). I can throw away wireless, but it won't be Home Access Point anymore. It leaves only netinstall, but it can't be done remotely.

6.7 less than 7
you can also try to put it without wireless and the put is separately after update

Required packages also don't fit (dhcp + ppp + security + system + wireless = 6.7 Mb).
Did you try to first disable all packages you do not need in the installed combined package, and then reboot and try if you can upload only those packages?
That could bring it just below the mark. Disabling packages saves some space, and immediately after reboot (which is required anyway for the changes to take effect) there also may be some more space.
I have switched to separate packages on a hAP mini in an older release, and I can still upgrade.

Disabling packages don't add any space.
And even without wireless it didn't work:
18:47:20 system,info installed system-6.47.10
18:47:20 system,info installed dhcp-6.47.10
18:47:20 system,info installed ppp-6.47.10
18:47:20 system,info installed security-6.47.10
18:47:20 system, error not enough space for upgrade
Edit: Actually, even dhcp + system don't work:
18:57:52 system,info installed system-6.47.10
18:57:52 system,info installed dhcp-6.47.10
18:57:52 system, error not enough space for upgrade

Downgrade to an older smaller version, then upgrade to latest version. This has been discussed many times her.

21:03:12 system,info installed dhcp-6.42.9
21:03:12 system, error not enough space for upgrade

Try <6.40 if possible. (smaller, the better)
Also look if there are any files that can be deleted.

See my earlier messages, tried it all, doesn't work. And you can't uninstall bundled packages.

Very risky since there was major change from master port to bridge and hw offload introduced. If I lose the device I can't netinstall it remotely.
I did file remove [find] before everything else. There's no files on disk.

Features like Graphing take up space on the disk without actually displaying as files. In previous cases I have had to disable Graphing so that the graph data is deleted in order to successfully upgrade 16MB flash devices.

Smips is not updated again. Favorite architecture microtik. Is it possible to make a transitional small firmware for translation to 6.47.10? Netinstall is very far to go.

Also it is best to not enable the "store on disk" checkmark because keeping Graphing data on disk (flash) causes a very high number of flash writes.
My RB2011 has been running with graphing for some time and now it has over 36 million sector writes. After I disabled that, the number is reduced very much,
it now has only 91000 writes after an uptime of 200 days.

How more minimal? 6 MB package, 6,6 MB (3%) flash free, but still "not enough space for upgrade"

Also it is best to not enable the "store on disk" checkmark because keeping Graphing data on disk (flash) causes a very high number of flash writes.
"Store on disk" itself is not a problem, depending on how things are configured. In Tools->Graphing, there is a "Graphing Settings" button that lets you define how often the graphing data is written to disk. The default is "every 5 minutes" but you can easily change it to "every 24 hours" if you don't mind losing the last day of graphing in an unexpected power outage, and this greatly reduces the number of flash writes.

In the vast majority of cases SMIPS upgrade problems are caused by RAM shortage and not flash shortage. The error message may be misleading, when it talks about disk space it is usually complaining about RAM drive. If you have problems upgrading SMIPS routers try rebooting the device first, then attempt the upgrade immediately after the device is booted. In case upgrade still fails, it most likely means your configuration is too fancy for this tiny device. Graphing was already mentioned above but other features may also occupy too much memory leaving no space for upgrade to succeed.

ROUTING package are for other services, like BGP / OSPF / RIP etc. that 99% of the AP do not need.
standard /ip routes are part of SYSTEM package

hotspot / mpls / routing
why mikrotik insists on putting them in the installation package of smips????
if they were not present, the memory would always have been sufficient

Very risky since there was major change from master port to bridge and hw offload introduced. If I lose the device I can't netinstall it remotely.
I did file remove [find] before everything else. There's no files on disk.
with what metod you are able to reach remotely the device?

read carefully:
make backup as .rsc file, not backup,
copy on pc
enable security package if is disabled, reboot if needed
download https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/ ... .47.10.zip
extract file and copy ONLY system and security and nothing else
if is needed for remote connection by any ppp methods, copy also ppp
if is needed for remote connection by any dhcp methods, copy also dhcp
reboot
copy other needed package like wireless and advanced-tools, and dhcp (if not already installed), ipv6 if needed
do not copy hotspot / mpls / routing or other useless package on zip
upgrade the bios
reboot
with the previous .rsc file, config again wireless and other missing pieces

you can first install the system-6.47.10 dhcp-6.47.10 after this the memory is enough
then reboot
then install the other packets
I still need ppp.npk for PPPoE . You guarantee that the router will communicate through the pppoe/dhcp client with three packets and I do not need security.npk and routing.npk?

read carefully:
Tried this and failed, see above.
If anyone can confirm that downgrade from 6.47.9 to 6.40 is safe, I can try it later this evening.

I would not risk that, especially not for an upgrade from 6.47.9 to 6.47.10
It would be different when you were further behind on upgrades.
For now, just report the problem to MikroTik support so that they cannot claim "nobody ever reports problems with upgrades and in our testing it always goes well".

I mean if you use something to remotely reach the device, lipe pppoe, pptp, dhcp-client, etc.
if by "mac telnet" you can reach device, do a system reset without keep nothing and witout apply any default.

downgrade is like upgrade, you do not resolve anything because if you can not install system, you can not install anything.

In the vast majority of cases SMIPS upgrade problems are caused by RAM shortage and not flash shortage. The error message may be misleading, when it talks about disk space it is usually complaining about RAM drive.
I think that is actually not true for those SMIPS devices that have both 16MB flash and little RAM (32MB).
These do not use the ramdisk method used by other 16MB flash devices, recognizable by having a flash subdirectory in the user file space.
Everything other than that flash directory is in a RAMdisk. The updates are downloaded in the RAMdisk (no longer visible using the files command) and indeed the amount of RAM is important as well.
But in the SMIPS devices this is not done, at least not during normal operation.
It could be there is some hidden RAMdisk that is only used for downloading updates, but the numbers given in the error message seem to indicate that it is downloading directly into flash. Which of course has barely enough space for that even in optimal circumstances.

Reboot before upgrade didn't help. Graphing was never used on this device. Nothing fancy in the configuration. This device was succesfully upgraded from 6.46.8 to 6.47.9. And now I can't even downgrade it using limited packages.

I need dhcp client + l2tp client to reach it. But without configuration mac telnet wouldn't work anyway. It disabled by default. Only winbox would work with empty config.

Could it be related to this? viewtopic.php?f=21&t=169553&p=831920#p831920
Yes, it seems to match. Thanks for replying !

How could I rephrase the issue this firmware solves ? What is poe FW, in the first place ?
Does FW stands for firmware ? for firewall ?

For now, just report the problem to MikroTik support so that they cannot claim "nobody ever reports problems with upgrades and in our testing it always goes well".
Pointless. The anwser will be "Netinstall it".

But without configuration mac telnet wouldn't work anyway. It disabled by default. Only winbox would work with empty config.
WRONG
you can use MAC telnet if the device are full reset without keep any and without apply default config

WRONG
you can use MAC telnet if the device are full reset without keep any and without apply default config
You tried it yourself? I did, recently. It doesn't work.

I can count on it, but the underlined part must be true!

OK -> bad-blocks: 0%

This is the problem (as you have previously discovered)
free-hdd-space: 6.5MiB

try with
/console clear-history
and reboot

this free disk space and memory

Before comand free-hdd-space: 6.6MiB
After comand free-hdd-space: 6.6MiB
No changes. How I clear used flash space? How i can clear lease history?

Mikrotik, for smips you need to release a flash cleaning npk package. And it's good that it is less than 6 MB :) .

1) you have rebooted?
Of course.
2) full reset the config
And I will lose connection to the router. No, I'd rather be with the old version of the software .

For AVN
also suggest to paste this on terminal, without omitting { }
this solve other errors, like gigabit ports, default settings, etc.

If the new version doesn't have the features you need, or if the old version doesn't have problems affecting your use, you don't need to upgrade it

another "unlocker" for some cases:
/ip ssh regenerate-host-key
This is not the adequate topic to explain the problem because on some devices this command release memory (delete corrupted database)

For now, just report the problem to MikroTik support so that they cannot claim "nobody ever reports problems with upgrades and in our testing it always goes well".
Pointless. The anwser will be "Netinstall it".
Of course. But they can no longer reply in the release thread that it works for them in the testing and that the problem must be caused by having some user file on the device.
Some fix will have to be found that allows upgrading with less space available. But likely it can only be fixed in a new routeros version so it affects only upgrades after that.

Don't see how this is relevant to the issue.
I appreciate suggestion about ssh, maybe I need to change that, although it's not very important. Everything else I like as it is or don't care about. I don't use ipsec and logging to disk, but I need the dude.

Is a Netinstall really such a complicated option?

download packages and netinstall
set static IP on your laptops Ethernet.
disable all other network interfaces
open netinstall, accept firewall exception, set different IP from same static IP network you put on the Ethernet
Close, reopen netinstall, so firewall exception works for sure.
connect ether1 to laptops ethernet.
while holding reset button, power up the device
hold reset until it appears in the Netinstall list.
choose packages to install, check keep-old-config, install.

HAP lite has no gigabit ports, dude right is obsolete and is replaced by winbox right, and INSIDE smips you can't have dude package INSTALLED,
but you can still check from ANOTHER device that has the dude installed

Re: v6.47.10 [long-term] is released!

I did see that it was remote after the comment about not downgrade <6.40.
And as other write, if there is nothing you need in 6.47.10, stay on 6.47.9 if it works.
With the risk of loosing it when some goes wring, I would have waited until I was physical with the device.

MT cannot extend low storage for existing devices, but you can get past the low space problem by switching from bundle-based installation to package-based. By default MT routers have almost full bundle installed where you can disable modules, but cannot remove them to free space.

Solution to this is to perform upgrade differently: download all-package (https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/ ... .47.10.zip), unzip it and upload only packages you actually use, into Files, reboot the router. After reboot, bundle install is replaced with single packages and disabled packages are removed. In the future System -> Packages -> Check For Updates needs less space.

/ip dhcp-server lease remove [find]
and reboot
No more free memory. 6.6 MB. The static ip addresses in dhcp server are the only thing that I changed in the simple haplight configuration. Removing static ip did not help.

Is a Netinstall really such a complicated option?
Yes it is. And that's not the only device, there's hundreds of such devices in different remote locations.

It is impossible too, even with system package only:

I've noticed, the igmp-proxy stops working after a few hours. IGMP join requests from downstream interfaces are either ignored by the igmp-proxy or discarded by the bridge. I did a traffic capture on the upstream interface, and no igmp requests is sent, when a client on a downstream interface requests a group.
Disabling und Enabling only the downstream interface in /routing/igmp-proxy makes it work again for the next x hours.
IGMP Snooping is enabled in the bridge.

Upgrade on hap lites broken only if hap lite earlier was upgraded to 6.47.9.
Upgrade from 6.46.8 to 6.47.10 worked without issue.
So it's 6.47.9 causing trouble. Tried on several devices, it's the same issue everywhere.
Good news, it's just one-time netinstall required per device. Bad news, I have about a hundred of them.

I have on previous post updated without issues from 6.47.9 to 6.47.10 with drag & drop of full file...

The problem can not be only the version

After other try, it fail if the file are downloaded instead of drag & dropped, or security package are not installed or disabled

(on this case specifyng long-term is useless)
tomorrow when I'm in office try full 6.46.8 to full 6.47.9 drag & drop to full 6.47.10 drag & drop

You should make an own thread with upgrade problems for hAP Lite.
This problem is not unique to 6.47.10

again: IF SECURITY PACKAGE ARE NOT INSTALLED AND ACTIVE YOU CAN NOT UPGRADE OR DOWNGRADE ANYMORE
low space or not, and you not see any specific errors about this
if you forget to install security package, you can not install, upgrade or downgrade anymore

Just netinstalled 6.46.8 smips full package on hAP lite RB941-2nD r3 qca9531L

just rebooted after drag&drop of full package 6.47.9, no problem

NOT enough space for drag&drop of full package 6.47.10

using netinstall for install full 6.47.9 leave free-hdd-space: 8.2MiB
using drag&drop update from 6.46.8 to 6.47.9 leave free-hdd-space: 6.7MiB
something occupy 1.5MiB of space between the two type of installation...

after reset-configuration, only 0.2MiB are released, someting still occupy 1,3MiB inside

Mikrotik Staff, now you have the EXACT procedure for replicate the problem.

it's must be solved like previous fix_space (without /flash)?
#!/bin/bash

if [ "$bootimage" != "1" ]; then rm -f /bootimage; fi

mv /var/pdb/fix-space/image /tmp
rm -rf /var/pdb/fix-space

I have two haplite with 6.47.9 firmware on the same provider. Configuration of routers is simple and standard. Pppoe wan, standard firewall rules, wifi. One before the update had flash free 7.9 MB, it was easy updated. It had extended package of software and ebsent ipv6 module. On the other - 6.6 MB, this one cannot be updated. It had standard package of software.

Hi at all,
I've read about the problems of the low disk space. Excuse me for the stupid question, but this problem is limited to the SMIPS architecture? Because also others mikrotik devices have only 16Mbytes of disk space, but, in my case, the upgrade from the 6.46.8 to the 6.47.10 version worked without problem.

I've upgraded more hAP AC Lite, one hAP AC2 and also some PWR-Line AP with very low disk space

This is an example

uptime: 1d12h57m49s
version: 6.47.10 (long-term)
build-time: May/31/2021 09:54:59
factory-software: 6.29.1
free-memory: 28.7MiB
total-memory: 64.0MiB
cpu: MIPS 24Kc V7.4
cpu-count: 1
cpu-frequency: 650MHz
cpu-load: 8%
free-hdd-space: 3444.0KiB
total-hdd-space: 16.0MiB
write-sect-since-reboot: 182
write-sect-total: 54537
bad-blocks: 0%
architecture-name: mipsbe
board-name: hAP ac lite
platform: MikroTik

I've used the on-line package upgrade, but I would like to remember, that to upload the upgrade package, you must to upload the npk outside the /flash directory, like this example.

Cattura.PNG

Sorry if I misunderstood the subject and if I was not helpful

Regarding the SMIPS problem:

The standard NPK bundle is smaller than the sum of its parts, presumably because the compression algorithm can cram them more efficiently.

A further slimmed down base NPK would go a long way in helping prevent these issues. (i believe the routing package is a prime candidate for excision, along with MPLS and Hotspot)
I personally don't use PPP, but i guess it's essential enough.
Advanced-tools is important for IP-scan and Netwatch. Personally, i use those daily in SMIPS devices installed as CPE in customer's houses.
IPV6 should bloody come enabled by default at this day and age...

The V7 NPK still brings Hotspot, but Routing and MPLS are gone. Why not do the same for V6?

I confirm that hAP ac lite (RB952Ui-5ac2nD) upgrade from 6.47.9 to 6.47.10 without the issue.
To replicate the problem on hAP lite, you need to upgrade from 6.46.8 to 6.47.9 to 6.47.10 (last step fails).

MikroTik support advice to resolve the problem with hAP lite:
1. Netinstall.
2. Or remove all the configuration from the device, including additional packages and reboot it twice. (Can't test it myself)
Either can't be done remotely, so...

for our the training classes, i always give the students the hap lite router
and i always remind them *DO NOT* load bundle package as most of the packages never be used on daily used; such as routing, mpls, hotspot, ipv6.
those unused packages can not be removed as it included into bundle packages, but it only can be disabled but still consume the space on nand.
so the way-out is *ALWAYS* use extra packages and load the necessary packages only. the result, you will get more xtra space on the router nand.

note: i just upgrade 2 unit of my hap mini on lab environments and it went smoothly without any problem as i am using xtra packages

cheers

The V7 NPK still brings Hotspot, but Routing and MPLS are gone. Why not do the same for V6?
In v7 some of the packages that were optional in v6 went into the main system package, so that only makes the problem worse for those SMIPS devices.
I can understand that putting everything in one package makes it easier to maintain (there sometimes are strange dependencies between the packages), but it makes life difficult or impossible for owners of small devices.

It looks like there are 2 combined problems here: the SMIPS devices do not use RAMdisk as the other 16MB flash devices do (no RAM either...) and so the space was already very tight, and then there is a problem in some versions that makes them use more space than really needed. Maybe forget to remove some file, maybe create some database too large by default, whatever.

This problem is sometimes fixed and then it comes back. I feel for those who have to maintain lots of these devices remotely. On the other hand, that is what you get for going for the cheapest possible option and save $30 on recommended sales price (likely they saved less a piece when they have hundreds).

I only have a hAP mini but I got it as a freebie at a MUM so I do not complain.

As I already write on post #29:

ROUTING package are for other services, like BGP / OSPF / RIP etc. that 99% of the AP do not need.
standard /ip routes are part of SYSTEM package

That depends on which packages are loaded independently

as the "bundle" ls LZMA'ed together, the compression algorithm is more efficient than when compressing the packages independently

the final effect is that if you try to install the same packages as the bundle, but independently, you use more flash space.
(i made an excell sheet to quantify that...)

Mikrotik really should come up with a "lean bundle" NPK, without MPLS/Hotspot/Routing, that really have no place in SOHO.

Re: v6.47.10 [long-term] is released!

Sat Jun 05, 2021 6:35 pm

for our the training classes, i always give the students the hap lite router
and i always remind them *DO NOT* load bundle package as most of the packages never be used on daily used; such as routing, mpls, hotspot, ipv6......
I could agree that "mpls, hotspot, ups..." are not the "daily use" packages but "routing" not used in routers? During training classes? The World went crazy :-)
Usage during training classes is not relevant in this case because in such usage you will also teach the use of netinstall and can easily re-install routers.
The whole update problem is mainly affecting those that have routers installed remotely and want to update them via remote administration.
I think it is a bit unlikely that one would run these packages in production on SMIPS routers. Spend the extra $30 to get a decent router.

Mikrotik really should come up with a "lean bundle" NPK, without MPLS/Hotspot/Routing, that really have no place in SOHO.
I fully agree!
Also note that any space gained is effectively doubled as you need both the space for the installed version and the same space for the download of the new version.
So when you have only 16MB and the package to be installed is 7.3MB, it leaves only 1.4MB (16-2*7.3) for all overhead (formatting overhead, files on the disk for use by RouterOS, etc) but when the package could be reduced to 6MB there suddenly is 2.7MB in the first update and 4MB free in the future. So a small reduction has a lot of effect.

Any trick that moves the stuff to another place during update (like it is done in other routers with 16MB flash which have more RAM and use a RAMdisk) will solve the problem for a long time, because during normal usage half of the flash is free.

dear BartoszP,

yes, on MTCNA class, which topics that the router have to have routing package ?
remember that static routing does NOT need routing package as the function already inside of system.
routing package contain dynamic routing functions such as ospf, rip, and bgp. it only needed on advance routing / mtcre class thus routing+mpls will be needed for mtcine class as well

cheer

This isn't specifically a response to this post, but:

I'm not sure that these space issues are as much of a problem in ROS v7. I have the main ROS v7.1beta6 package (which includes everything as before) on my hAP mini, latest version, and it reports 7.9 MiB of 16 MiB used (50% free).

It will almost certainly be easier to upgrade to ROS v7 from the bundle package than the individual package installs. I have run into issues trying to upgrade installs with individual packages to installs using the main bundle. As a result, I am not sure about the wisdom of advising people to avoid the bundle package in the long term, since I suspect at the rate things have been going, we might reasonably expect a v7 stable release in Q1 or Q2 next year - possibly a little longer. If this stable release is as small as the current one, or a similar size, it might eliminate the upgrade issues that we have all experienced with the 16MB flash devices.

No that is not at all true, please read back the previous replies and replies given in other topics about this issue.
When you now have 7.9MB in use on a hAP mini, you are right on the edge of being able to update because during update twice the amount of space is required temporarily.
Remember the hAP mini does NOT use a RAMdisk like many other devices with 16MB flash do, because it has too little RAM for that.

I do have personal experience with hAP mini units in the field as we have about 50 of them deployed to customers, with the bundle package and tr069 package (currently running 6.48). I have upgraded them a few times now, but try to make the upgrades infrequent to try to avoid issues with insufficient space. I push down upgrades from the TR069 server - most upgrade OK but usually there are a handful where there is not enough space and I have to upgrade them manually. The typical problem situation I have come across is that when the bundle+tr069 package are uploaded, the disk is basically almost full - it shows either 15.9 MiB in use out of 16 MiB or 16.0 MiB in use out of 16 MiB. The ones that show 16.0 MiB in use out of 16.0 MiB typically fail to upgrade. I have to do some things to free up 0.1 MiB to bring it down to 15.9 MiB in use and then it upgrades successfully on reboot. Sometimes I just have to disable graphing, upgrade, and re-enable afterwards, other times I have to remove the tr069 package, upgrade, and put it back afterwards. I am always a bit nervous when handling the upgrades with that razor thin margin in 6.x - if we upgrade to a version that suddenly uses a lot more space for some reason, it could prevent future upgrades, so I tend to be conservative for that reason.

I only have the one 7 beta hAP mini home device to compare to for 6 vs 7. On that one with both the routeros and tr069 package installed, I have around 300KiB more free space than the units on 6.48. When uploading the bundle and tr069 npk's to the 6 vs 7 devices, the RouterOS 6 device has only about 300KiB free whereas the RouterOS 7 device has 600 KiB free. I am not saying it is drastically better, but it does seem to be better, at least with this limited sample size. My own personal experience is that the units always seem to upgrade properly in v6 if there is at 0.1MiB free after uploading the npk files, although I would rather have more. It could be this is no longer true in v7 and more space is needed, or that I was lucky to be able to upgrade with only 0.1MiB free and this experience does not agree with what others have found.

Which version of RouterOS works correctly for igmp-snooping?
I use 6.47.9
Thanks.

Hello, everyone experiencing issues with SMIPS upgrading. Please open a support case by sending an unencrypted backup file together with supout.rif file from a device that is currently unable to upgrade or even better, provide a full remote access to your device.

Yes that is what it is all about: the 16MB flash on these devices both holds the installed version and the downloaded new version.
So when the stuff to download approaches half of the 16MB, it will no longer be possible to do this kind of in-place upgrade and a netinstall is required, which loads the new version into empty flash using only the network bootloader, so it does not have this restriction.

Did you also try other things, like rebooting the 6.47.10 after some time? It may well be that it is not caused by a software change but just by a bad state on the network that got resolved in the time it took you to downgrade (and would also be resolved by just trying again some time later).

I wonder if it would be too hard to check if package upgrade even works on supported platforms because it obviously doesn't on SMIPS using any standard procedure...

Well, the testing being done clearly is not sufficient, but it appears that in this case a requirement to reproduce it is:
- install some version
- upgrade to 6.47.9
- then upgrade to 6.47.10

Apparently such scenarios (which are common) are not tested. And with "netinstall 6.47.9, then upgrade to 6.47.10" (probably what they test) it works OK.

On others you go without problems.

I wonder why you write if you wonder?
Or you have a problem and with right, if not already writed before, you write here, or all this "wonder" post are useless and confusing only.

Writing assumptions, hypotheses and several times the things already written in previous posts, do nothing but bring the number of posts to 120 when in reality 3 or 4 are needed, also making confusion for the MikroTik assistance

and other lazy users who don't have the slightest desire to reread everything, rewrite the same things again, lengthening everything and making the thread even more confusing.

6.47.10 does work correctly.
After some more testing I found out that the issue I'm currently dealing with is because of a newly added CSS610 and it's software, and not the new long-term release. Sorry.

I wonder why you wonder if me or someone wonders why it is not prudent to test something that should be the most common case in upgrade process and write about it to maybe suggest that it should be done in the future... and I am not aware anyone else did it ...

On other hand seems that you spilling your bad mood here is much more waste of space...

Thank you for your suggestion, we already have such system where the hAP lite upgraded successfully from 6.47.9 to 6.47.10, so it is not like all of the devices are affected not allowing us to spot the issue before releasing the version.

Well IV&V is system test after all, assuming the FQT proved that the firmware functions as designed, you need to ensure that the design meets the user requirements and finally, the firmware can be fielded to all the platforms, in the ways it will be delivered and propagated.

I think further checking has to be done in that testcase. It should not only check "can we successfully upgrade from version X-1 to X" but also "is the free space unexpectedly lower after that upgrade".
In that case you would probably have caught this error when testing the upgrade to 6.47.9. And it has happened before (the previous time that fix-space package was released), and in that case the scenario was the same! (new version released that could be upgraded from earlier version but would block update to higher version due to space problem).

Since I got my 2 CCR2004 they never went above 0RPM, running 6.48.1/.2/.3.. And honestly 52C is nothing. Check fans again when it reaches 75C+. The reboot probably didn't happen because of overheating.

after upgrading to version 6.47.10 [long-term] my 951Ui-2HnD everything works fine:
Wi-Fi - OK
OVPN - OK
SSTP - OK
DoH - I'm not sure it's stable but it works. Use: https://1.1.1.1/dns-query
IPSec - I don't use it and I can't know

but there are problems:
memory leak when using DoH - every 10,000 packets per dns server address - loss of 1 Mb of memory. you need to restart on the weekend 1 time a week.
there are error messages in the logs, but everything seems to work: "DoH server connection error: remote disconnected while in HTTP exchange"

In some models there are health-related settings, e.g. when there are redundant fans you can select the mode and active fan.
The RB750Gr3 does not have such settings so when you click the settings button you get a window where you can set nothing and then OK/APPLY/CANCEL it.
Of course it would be better when there was no settings button on the health window, or if it was shown "disabled".
But I think it is only a minor detail and not so important. At least the health value display works again (it apparently has been redesigned).

I just wanted to report that it should be disabled if there is nothing to configure. Haven't encountered many empty windows like that in ros

As time goes on, the performance of the machine declines. When it is restarted, it can run more than 400 megabytes. At this time, a CPU takes up 100. After 2 to 3 days, it can only run about 250. At this time, a CPU takes up 100. The machine is rb450gx4.

No, I do not see that. But it happens when you have some setting that is different from the default, and that also can happen when the default changes.
It is difficult to say anything without seeing the two exports and the version numbers they were made on.
For me, going from 6.47.7 to 6.47.10 there is no change in wifi export

Hi pe1chl, thanks for your reply. I thought that and, in fact, I've done a complete Wireless Interface Configuration Reset, re-applied my conf via console (thoroughly tested script), exported it and there it was again. Now I don't have any device at hand but tomorrow I'll try to make the conf via winbox if I see any changes. Time to double/triple check my script ;-)

After upgrade from 6.46.8 on RB591G-2HnD and RBSXTR Gigaset phones started having problems with DNS resolving through the Mikrotik. There are two accounts configured on both Gigasets and each time only one gets connected. On connection monitor you can see a stuck connection UDP Port 53 to Mikrotik IP.
When i setup IPs instead of DNS or redirect Gigaset to another DNS server, things work fine.

Quite a lot of issues with Mikrotik and Gigaset lately :(

Dear
Mikrotik User & Support

Yesterday monring I decide to upgarde following the recommendation of Mikrotik from Long-Term 6.47.9 to 6.47.10 and Today Few minutes ago, I get this error:
" Aug/11/2021 06:50:17 system, error, critical router was rebooted without proper shutdown, probably kernel failure "

EQUIPMENT MODEL
routerboard: yes
model: CCR1072-1G-8S+
serial-number: 727206BA962E
firmware-type: tilegx
factory-firmware: 3.33
current-firmware: 6.47.10
upgrade-firmware: 6.47.10

Question:
What is the reason about Kernel Failure?

I send it an email to support@mikrotik with supput.rif file for identify what is the source of that crash.

Thank You
