CCR1009 8G 1S 1S+ Powering on PoE Safe or Not?

Sun Feb 21, 2016 8:45 pm

Hello,

Can anyone please give me some info regarding CCR1009 8G 1S 1S+ Powering on PoE Safe or Not? I think PoE on port 8 is not much powerful than the PSU supplied but I need to powe the CCR with DC batteries. Can anyone please advice me choosing the right battery? I've a 12V 7.5 Amp. With fully charged it can run only 15minutes on PoE but I need to run the CCR more than 5hrs with battery so please advice me what to do.

Thanks

From manual:
PoE input on Ether8, 12-56V passive PoE only

If you have 12V batteries. You can use 4x12V = 48V. With 48V  time on battery will be much higher...

Don't use POE for the CRS1009!

If the voltage is lower than 24V then the CCR will use to much current and POE port will fry.

I did had this problem when using a long cable.
