Huawei E3372s support

Thu Mar 03, 2016 4:34 pm

Hi there,

I am trying to set up a connection Mikrotik rb951ui-2hnd and 4G Modem Huawei E3372s using ppp-out1 interface.
Everything works fine, but from time to time I see the following error in logs: "ppp-out1: reseting link... - could not acquire serial port" and router can't connect to the internet.

After a restart everything seems to be ok, but after some time, the error appear again.

Is there smth that I can miss in configurations?
Please advice.

Thanks.

Not enough USB power - powered USB hub must be used

Hello Senux,

Thanks you for the reply.

Can you please suggest a powered USB hub that can be used for this case ?

Thanks,
VM.

I prefer powered USB hub, because u can use it for attaching HDD or USB flash for additional functionality of router. I do not know how much power need E3372s, but I found information that Huawei E3276 modem needs up to 800 mA in some conditions, so IMHO it is no matter brand of USB hub but output of power supply if you plan to use more devices.
Also simple solution is usb power injector like this http://routerboard.com/5VUSB but you can connect only modem.

Hello Guys,

I had the same issue. I invested in usb hubs as it was mentioned but unfortunately problems still persisted. I solved the problem and 4G modem became stable after using a 750UP PSU. You can i either order for one from a mikrotik distributor, or get a 24V/DC 2.5A PSU from you local store.

i had the same issue with RB2011UIAS and have managed to resolve the issue by replacing the power input adaptor.
by default it is 24v and 0.8A there is another adapter with same voltage but 1.2A.
Now, I can connect any usb device like E3372 without any problem
